May I suggest an Ophiolatry ideology/style? Snake worship is one of the oldest forms of worship after all.

I think it would be neat if violent conversion interacted with the execution precept when it "fails."
I think the corruption mechanic for the eldritch structure should be removed or reworked. It adds complication to the gameplay loop with no payoff. Managing corruption isn't fun or interesting, but it does take a lot of time that my pawns could be spending doing something better, so my overall impression is that I've added a chore to my colony for no reason.

Then... don't use it? It is working precisely the way we wanted it to

Have you considered adding a meme or precepts surrounding the worship of pollution?

My first idea for a colony when Biotech came out was a solo mechanitor run who embraces every element of the mechanist lifestyle, including the pollution it generates. Not necessarily eliminating the health penalties for being around pollution, but making it desirable to members of the ideoligion, or having buildings that can use/manage pollution toward beneficial ends.

you intended for it to do literally nothing? it seems like such a cool concept to have a high maintenance meme with a high pay off, but there is absolutely no reason to run this as it stands. which is a shame because imo it has some of the coolest art/graphical changes

Good thing then that it doesn't do "literally nothing" :)

why are you so defensive lmao, if you're gonna get offended at suggestions, don't have a suggestions topic

this meme adds nothing but tedium to the gameplay, it would be nice if some reward was added to make this tedium worth picking. Conversion chance is simply not worth wasting hours every couple of days just to make sure the cult stays intact.

You are reading more into my words than you should. I just disagree with you.

I can see you disagree, I'm just not entirely sure why you're so adamant about this.

There are multiple comments here, and threads outside of steam wondering what this meme actually does, I had to google it myself mid-playthrough because I was wasting so much time on incantations not knowing what they actually do. There are several other, better and more efficient ways to prevent conversion, the meta way of playing an eldritch cult is just picking a random meme and adjusting the style later. I think it could be viable if the incantation granted more corruption, like 30%, as of right now you end up having to do one basically everyday unless you mass produce obelisks. It just isn't fun, and there are plenty of others who share my sentiment.

how challenging would it be to have hated animals? We have venerated animals, would it be very challenging to flip it around?

Requesting integration with the insectoid genes from Alpha Genes, Alpha Genes VFE Insectoid Mutations and insectoid parts from Vanilla Insectoids Expanded so that insect parts are viewed as +opinion and/or +mood.

My Freud looking dude with that O2JA name: having commerce of any sort with eldritch things is generally a dangerous matter with very little reward. These people needing to be frequently brainwashed to venerate that which may destroy them, and giving the eldritch faith up as soon as they have a moment of clarity (0% corruption and somebody offering an alternative) makes perfect sense. You want more rewards? Go get the Rim of Madness mods, those let you sacrifice people to eldritch gods for gain. Just hate the corruption mechanic? 'Ducks' No Limits - Ideology' lets you kick that out, selectively. That's the great thing about Rimworld, customizing it as you wish just takes some time and effort. Unless we get some Vanilla Expanded: Eldritch Horror one day, this structure is fine for what it is: one small, thematic addition to a larger pack, for people who want a little more challenge.

Keeping corruption at high levels gives your pawns 100% certainty - they will never attempt to change their ideology. That's the bonus.

not sure what exactly, but ones related to biotech. Ones that effect mechanoids, ones that effect gene modification... you get the idea!
