Then... don't use it? It is working precisely the way we wanted it to
My first idea for a colony when Biotech came out was a solo mechanitor run who embraces every element of the mechanist lifestyle, including the pollution it generates. Not necessarily eliminating the health penalties for being around pollution, but making it desirable to members of the ideoligion, or having buildings that can use/manage pollution toward beneficial ends.
this meme adds nothing but tedium to the gameplay, it would be nice if some reward was added to make this tedium worth picking. Conversion chance is simply not worth wasting hours every couple of days just to make sure the cult stays intact.
There are multiple comments here, and threads outside of steam wondering what this meme actually does, I had to google it myself mid-playthrough because I was wasting so much time on incantations not knowing what they actually do. There are several other, better and more efficient ways to prevent conversion, the meta way of playing an eldritch cult is just picking a random meme and adjusting the style later. I think it could be viable if the incantation granted more corruption, like 30%, as of right now you end up having to do one basically everyday unless you mass produce obelisks. It just isn't fun, and there are plenty of others who share my sentiment.
Keeping corruption at high levels gives your pawns 100% certainty - they will never attempt to change their ideology. That's the bonus.
