A reminder since 1.8 may drop soon:
The scenario will need to be updated for 1.8 to fix display issues with custom models and effects in the scenario. This may take me a few days depending on how things go. Please have patience as I cannot give an exact time when I'll get it updated.

Known issues that I've noticed so far:
Custom models, effects, etc will be messed up. This will be fixed in the scenario update.
Sun flares are too dim on the current 1.8 exp. This cannot be fixed in an existing save game, though I do not know if the devs will adjust them up or down. Once I'm sure they won't change them, I will fix it for NEW save games.
On servers players may get trapped inside the starting base on Tallodar in saves started pre-1.8. Please ask an admin to remove some blocks using a multitool in `gm iv` mode to make an escape route, or to teleport players out of the starting base when needed.
The new planetary decorations will not be added at this time. Nor will any changes made to the vanilla missions or starting sector. Project Eden will be using the 1.7 missions and starting sector, and Reforged Eden will be using the 1.7 RG missions and starting sector. So there will be no drastic change there.
Due to possible changes in vanilla POI designs, vanilla missions may break in Project Eden. I won't be fixing these yet.

There are also some scenario updates coming.
Again, I cannot give an estimate but it may be a few days depending on what all is involved.

This will be a quick and dirty update to fix the visuals. I don't know if I'll have time to do the Reforged Galaxy changes tonight or not.

If you're planning on starting a new game, I recommend waiting until I have fully updated the scenario which may be next weekend.

I am sorry for the delay but IF you're starting a new save game you will want to wait for the fixes to sun flares before starting a new save.

I want to thank everyone for your patience for this update.
I know it's frustrating not being able to play, but this week I just did not have much free time to update the scenario. I do this in my spare time so I am not always able to update the scenario right away after a game update.
This update fixes the display issues in the scenario and adds a few extra goodies.

This update will not be able to fix it in an existing save game so if you care about the appearances of stars please don't start a new save game quite yet.

Update for Reforged Eden: (Build 30)

Project Eden:
  • Updated Unity bundles to fix display issues.
    Please note the new disclaimer on the main workshop page description. These bundles are created by myself or others for use within this scenario only unless you have permission.


Bounty update:
  • Added new rare bounty NPC to XCorp Mainframes and bounty drone to hot orbits.
  • Doubled credit reward from bounties and bandit/raider insignias.
  • Added new periodic reward from destroying cores of bandit and raider patrol vessels.
  • T1, T2, and T3 beam laser turrets no longer turn into player versions when picked up and can now be salvaged or deconstructed for resources. T4 beam laser turrets still give the player version. (you should not be able to buy the ammo for the NPC turrets, so please let me know if you can)
    Planning on more updates to the bounty system.

Exploration update:
  • Added new scanning missions available in some exploration sites. They will be visible in the PDA under Science and Scanning while in playfields that have them avaiable.
  • Added new scanning station that can initiate scans for the above missions instead of having to activate them in the PDA.
  • Added new WIP science station. This will be used for expeditions IF testing on a server works out for these. Non-functional at the moment.
  • Changed PlanetType for exploration sites to support the new scanning missions.
    This system is heavily WiP.

Misc:
  • Removed mention of small constructor requirement for refining silver ore.
  • Added silver deposits to vulcanic moons and added large silver deposits that have about 30% more ore.
  • Dense and Rich ice asteroid hp increased from 6000 to 9000. Dense and rich ice mining yield increased by 50% from 1 to 1-2. Compressed ice yield increased. This is based on player feedback and means you will get on average 50% more dense and rich ice from an ice field.
  • Increased HP and average yield of rich asteroids by 25%.
  • Increased damage of excavator turret from 80 to 120. This gives it a 50% damage bonus per CPU, double the range, and greater ammo efficiency compared to the T1 auto drill turrets.

  • Drone Swarm faction now attacks NPCs. (Needed for certain special encounters)
  • Added variant of Drone Swarm Assembler and Capacitor Matrix (Thanks to AkevaBanshee).
  • Redid drone swarm POI groups and now some POIs only appear inside the Dronelands. This may cause some playfields to be empty.
  • Added new POI remote shield booster turret and POI shield capacitor T0.
  • Increased range of POI swarm launcher from 1200 to 1350.
  • Added a terrifying new class 5 combat site to the Dronelands with a POI that has a chance to drop intact drone swarm cores.
  • Adjusted sector POI probabilities and counts in drone systems.
  • Lowered number of Syndicate outposts in Syndicate Casino sectors and removed raider outposts. Removed space defense probabilities and AI parameters.
  • Gauss Vulcan Turrets can no longer repair to template.
  • Increased market price of large vulcan rounds from 4 to 20. Doubled output yield, plate, and nitro powder cost. (This means you craft them twice as fast with half the tungsten cost).
  • Increased antimatter warp drive unlock cost from 0 to 1 so you have to actually unlock it to craft it.
  • Updated icons for bandit insignias and Zirax bounty insignias.
  • Added zirax silver silos to methane moons in Zirax territory.
  • Added a chance of new asteroid fields to orbits as a test. The asteroids in the new fields have randomized size, shape, and color, are purely visual, have no collision, and do not stop projectiles. They break apart if you fly into them.
  • Fixed getting stuck whben first spawning in one of the starter POIs on Tallodar.
  • Removed medical bay from Colonist Main Trade Hub (PE version).
  • Increased blast damage of XCorp plasma rifle from 75 to 125.
  • Increased volume of POI only blocks from 500000 to 800000 to account for Reforged changes.


Reforged Galaxy V1.8-23:

Here's the 1.8 update. This is primarily a compatibility fix that will add the new deco and terrain generation to all NON-STARTER planets. (new planet deco is not yet added to RE -Ravien) The planets and galaxy need a more thorough overhaul to use the new systems and there are a lot of failings in the vanilla files.
The new creatures will not spawn in this version. They're in, but not configured to spawn. It will take a week to get those things in and ready to go, which will require a fresh savegame. This update is primarily for compatibility for older savegames.
  • Reduced mass of shield boosters for HV/SV
  • Slight increase in HV/SV shield generator strength.
  • Zirax Heavy Beam Turrets now give CV Heavy Beam Turrets when retrieved/salvaged.
  • Waste Processing Plants now buy more toxic waste for 50% more credits.
  • Blazar machines now give an out-of-order message instead of blank dialog box (until it's fixed).
  • Fixed damage output of Heavy Laser Turrets being 2x intended value.
  • Increased RoF of Artillery Turret's EMP shells.
  • Increased idle power consumption of player-obtained Disruptors.
  • Maximum cargo capacity for Large Cargo Controllers has been increased from 320k to 640k.
  • Maximum cargo capacity for Small Cargo Controllers has been increased from 32k to 64k.
    Note: This applies ONLY to the cargo controllers, not ammo or harvest. That means you can add more cargo extensions beyond 39, not that your existing extensions have more volume.
  • Structural Ramps no longer appear in the control panel.
  • Increased count of Biobox drops.
  • Keycards can now be found in Very Rare containers.
  • Updated to 1.8.
  • 1.8 Carbon Ore gives Graphite and Carbon Substrate. Crafting for Carbon Substrate has not changed... yet.
  • Fixed broken signal logic on Zirax Electronics Factory.

Update for Reforged Eden: (Build 31)

Project Eden:
  • Fixed error in Templates file.
  • Fixed unmineable ore surveys on Haven/Persephone/Gaia.
  • Updated several auto-activated PDA missions to remove available notifications and set drone ambushes to appropiate factions.
  • Set reactivation delay of new scanning missions to 1 second.
  • Updated descriptions of auto mining turrets since they work on servers while in the pilot seat now.


Reforged Galaxy V1.8-23 Hotfix
  • Fixed an issue where some starter planet POIs would fail to spawn or break caused by failed file copying.
  • Added overhauled Abandoned Mine POI.
  • Fixed bug where Polaris Frigates weren't part of the rest of the Polaris OPV group.

Update for Reforged Eden: (Build 32)

Project Eden:
  • Re-imported Project Eden configs to apply missing RE specific balancing. (Some turrets use more CPU now. They were bugged in the last update and were using CPU values from vanilla PE. That is fixed now.)
  • Updated automated drill turret and excavator drill turret visuals.
  • POI beam laser turrets are no longer craftable.
  • Added 2 new traders to UCH research vessels (not in starting systems) for use in future missions and trading.
  • Updated playfield types of some space playfields for future missions.
  • Updated Xenuan Carrier. Increased max shield and shield recharge. Added reinforced loot containers. Now contains an advanced core box (quantum core box for Reforged).
  • Increased ice and rich asteroid drill max count from 8 to 10.
  • Increased auto ice and rich asteroid drill turret max count from 6 to 12.
  • Increased excavator turret max count from 4 to 6.
    I realize these changes may require some redesign on existing mining ships when used with block limits, but the alternative is to never change anything at all so... Enjoy more drills.

We're trying to figure out why some people are having trouble resuming old save games. If there's a fix we'll do an update for it. In the mean time DO NOT DELETE YOUR SAVE GAMES please just in case they can be fixed.

Update for Reforged Eden: (Build 33)

New planetary decoration:
The new planetary decorations have not been added to any planets yet. This is because it's not ready for scenarios to use yet, and because I don't currently have time to add it to all planets.
I will most likely wait until the system gets documentation and has been tested for singleplayer and multiplayer.
I have a big planet update planned for later after the deco system becomes fully available to scenarios, but I may add it to a few planets as a test before then.


New starting planets:
I am also not including the new Crown starting sector or new starting moons from 1.8. This is because it would take more work than I have time for at the moment since several of my planets share the same names as the new starting system.
I may rename my existing planets and add Ellyon as its own dedicated starting solar system later.


New missions: (Applies to Project Eden only)
1.8 changes the vanilla starting missions. Currently I have not added them since they would also require the above two changes and I simply do not have time to do this at the moment.
The new starting missions also rely on 273mb of new files which I really cannot add to the scenario since there is a size limit on scenarios that are uploaded to the Workshop and that would greatly cut into my allowed size and increase the download burden on servers.
The existing vanilla missions may also be broken due to changes in vanilla POI prefabs, so going forward I will no longer be able to maintain the vanilla missions in Project Eden.
I know this may be a dissapointment to some but the Empyrion developers have spent a lot of work getting custom pictures, audio, and video set up with the new missions and if I added them without that it would not only cause console errors, but also not show the missions as they were meant to be played and cheapen the experience.
This will also allow me to focus on the custom content in the scenario without needing to build it around the vanilla missions, though I may include select custom missions in the scenario in the future where it makes sense.
Reforged Galaxy missions will still be supported, and those have not changed this update.


Block ID mapping error in save games:
Unfortunately there's not much to update on this. We don't know of any way to fix it from the scenario side of things, and it's been hard to reproduce as it only affected certain people.
I wish I had more of an answer for everyone but the reality is that when modding games, there's a chance that things can go wrong through no fault of anyone. Always keep your work-in-progress ship and base designs saved to a blueprint file, as ships and resources can always be spawned back into a new save game but not easily recovered from a corrupt save.



Project Eden:
  • Updated all starting planets to have carbon deposits and depletion meteors as appropiate. Carbon might not have much use yet in Reforged Eden but it has been added to all started for future compatibility. Carbon surface rocks are unable to be added unless you use the new planetary decoration system.
  • Doubled the size of sun flares in the galaxy config file to compensate for the halving of sun flares in the game. Only applies to a NEW save game.
  • Added 3 new star variations.
    Note: the colors of all stars also seemed to have changed in 1.8 compared to 1.7. I had originally spent a lot of time setting up the colors and now they might not look like I had intended. I don't know when I will have time to go back through and tweak them all so for now this is what we have to work with.
  • Cruise missile turrets can no longer be repaired to template.
  • Fixed error on Tropical and Jungle planets. No idea what the error was or why it was causing an issue, but fixed it is. Will most likely not apply to games that already broke because of this error sadly.
    POTENTIAL FIX FOR EXISTING SAVES (use at own risk): Go to your save game's Templates folder, find the planet name you got stuck on (sort by last modifed may be easiest), open up Playfield.yaml in Notepad++:
    Anywhere you see the following:
    AuxiliaryPOIs: - RuinsTribal
    Remove the "- Ruins Tribal". And if that leaves AuxiliaryPOIs blank, remove that as well.
    Find anywhere that says:
    - GroupName: RuinsTribal
    And if it has a "IsAuxPOI: true" listed below it, remove that "IsAuxPOI: true" line completely.
    Save the file and try loading your save game again.
    And again, DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. MAKE BACKUPS.

  • Added new Config_PE and Config_RE files to the scenario's content folder and added notes to the galaxy config file.
    FOR SERVERS: You may read the directions at the top of the galaxy config file, or inside each of the two new config files to lower the max star count and increase the warp range if needed for save game stability on larger multiplayer servers.
    I cannot guarantee how much impact lowering the star count will actually have, but it is now a little easier for you to do if you choose to.


Reforged Galaxy V1.8-24 Hotfix
  • Updated Abandoned Mine with fixes.
  • Cold/Chilled Cabinets and cryochambers no longer spoil food.
  • Added secondary conditional checks to fix the issue with the game update to 1.8 wiping dbplayer_string variables used to track Class type.
    If your class info has been wiped (old save) running the Class System mission will add a new option to reconfirm your main class and will reset your sub-class checks so you can choose that too.
    WARNING: If you Reconfirm a class that's NOT the one you originally chose you will receive no class missions, no skill bonuses, nothing. Game over.
  • Fixed bug where Stone Deco Blocks weren't correctly linking back to it's own templates.
  • Added BaseItem recipes to posters to prevent exploit where players can spawn structures with posters.

Okay so apparently a lot of you have your own custom config.ecf files still in your main empyrion folder and that is the issue at least two people are having.

You cannot use a custom config.ecf file with the scenario. Last update I removed the blank one that came with the scenario but I guess I'll have to put it back tonight.

If you want to fix your game, remove your incompatible config.ecf file that you made under your main empyrion configuration folder. Or wait for my update tonight (but you should still remove that file.)

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Make sure you do not use a custom "Config.ecf" file under your root Empyrion/Content/Configuration folder when playing the scenario.
If you do you must either delete it, rename it, or update it to work with the scenario.
Failure to do so may result in game crashing errors.


Update for Reforged Eden: (Build 34)

Project Eden:
  • Increased size of pentaxid deposits on pentaxid rich crystalline moons.
  • Adjusted scanning and expedition missions (still WIP and not at all nearly done).
  • Added a new type of bounty patrol vessel to cold orbits. These give you a payout after destroying their core.
  • Adjusted detection range of strange plant formations on tropical and strange temperate planets. Now set to 500 meters.
  • Reduced shield damage modifier of POI swarm launcher from 0.2 to 0.15.
  • Added debug multitool that can remove reinforced blocks.
  • Increased hardness of POI reinforced cargo containers from 15 to 150, reducing damage taken by 90% to help them survive battles.
  • Added many new decals and blocks for POIs. NOT FOR PLAYER USE.
  • Changed blue deco crystal POIs to use a new block you can harvest for resources.

  • Sector Command shield now recharges on crusted lava planets. (Reforged)

1.8.5 introduced several game bugs that will affect both the scenario and vanilla. The game devs are aware of them and some are already marked as fixed next update.
In the meantime I ask that anyone that has new issues in 1.8.5 when playing the scenario that you first test it in vanilla with the same setup (sp or mp, etc) and see if it happens there.

Unfortunately there's not much we can do for now besides provide bug reports in vanilla and wait for the issues to be fixed.

Known issues so far:
(not a comprehensive list)
- Coloring, rendering, lighting, and texturing issues.
- Decal control units not functioning or decals not positioned correctly.
- Difficulty opening loot containers.
- Low FPS (try turning down Screen Space Reflections in the video settings, mine defaulted to high and dropped my FPS by over 30).
- CV weapons not firing in 1st person view (not a new issue, you need to reposition the weapons or move further away from the target).
- CoQ errors when fighting Tianlong ships (reported on 2 servers so far, no idea what causes it, please reproduce it in a vanilla MP server).
- Motion sensor issues.

The next update to the scenario will most likely be sometime the second week of August. I don't know what will ultimately end up in the update, and hopefully most of these game issues will be fixed by then and I can focus on adding cool stuff to the scenario. My plan was to start overhauling the existing main PE missions to utilize all the new mission mechanics that have been added to the game, add new caves, and do more on the bounty and exploration systems. But I will have to see how it all goes.

For server owners:

Changed end step of The Progenitors - Part 1 to require accessing a console to earn the reward. Fixed exploit allowing to complete mission multiple times.
NOTE: Server owners will need to update the POI at the very end of the dyson sphere mission by either wiping the playfield or adding a dialog enabled console to it with the dialog set to Eden_DysonEnd_Init (use gm iv, place console in the POI, press F on it and copy paste Eden_DysonEnd_Init into the entry box).

Update for Project Eden: (Build 36)

Project Eden:
  • Added new model for Science station thanks to Vertex Rage Studio.

Reforged Galaxy V1.8-26:
  • Model update: Fusion Reactor no longer vents plasma from its vents while it's turned off/has no fuel.
  • Model update: Shield Charger and Capacitor Arrays' turbines on the top and bottom and the lightning discharge around the central spire turn off while there's no power.
  • Model update: Shield Charger and Capacitors no longer rotate while there's no power.
  • Model fix: Fusion Reactor plasma and the lightning discharge in the Shield Arrays have been fixed since at some point (probably the update to unity in 1.8) the effects all changed themselves to an unsuitable effect.
  • Fixed Localization release that steam didn't upload in the last update.
  • Fixed an extra break in the german localization of the Hacking Software.
  • Fixed the bug where the PDA webtool wiped all InventoryContains and InventoryContainsCountOfItem TypesMeta/Content line causing missions that require you to pick up items to give an error (Desert Strike, Talon Instigator, Pirate Story Missions) because an item pickup was no longer designated.
  • Fixed a trader mission on several POIs: Kenex Station, Farr HQ, Promethium Mining Operation, Rados Adv Supply Station (Snow and Normal) and Trader's Frontier Hub.
  • Attempted fix for falling through the Xenu Mainframe's floor when teleporting in.
    Will require the POI be regenerated after updating, or if on a server the POI refreshes itself.

  • Fixed crash to desktop in blueprint library from lift blocks.
    Please make sure to update the scenario on your servers for this fix ASAP.
    The updated file is blocksconfig.ecf.

Hotfix for Project Eden: (No Build Change)
  • Tentative fix for crashing on Ice moons.
    The updated playfield folders are EdenMoonIceOuter, EdenMoonIceOuter2, EdenMoonIceOuter3, EdenMoonIceOuter4.
