Campaign optimisation
Hi there. First off - the mod is great. I absolutely love the scale, the amount of factions, the attention to detail, all of it. There is however a problem that, I'm afraid, with time could become major, namely the campaign optimisation.

As of now, while playing, I spend much time on loading screens and waiting for my turn. The loading screen can take 3, 4 up to even 5 minutes, every time I load the game from the menu, every time I'm initiating a battle, every time I finish it to go back to the campaign map. It becomes really tiresome. Same thing goes to the wait I have to endure when waiting for my turn. The amount of factions, armies, cities and agents makes this problematic, especially when playing a minor faction, with not much to do in a single turn. And even if I had much to do - like multiple battles, here comes again the problem of loading screens.

And it's not like I have a bad PC. It handles Attila battles and campaign on max settings just fine. And we all know how bad is Attila optimisation. With this said, I feel growing concern over the mod, as it's only in 0.6 and it is expected to grow even more. If you're going to add more factions, more scripts etc. how do you expect players to handle the campaign map? Are you planning on doing some optimisation, do you have some ideas that could fix the problem, or at least alleviate it? Because right now I feel like you're, with all due respect, overambitious. Though I'm amazed with every aspect of this mod, possibly the best in all of TW franchise for me, I'm afraid the world and its technology isn't yet ready for something so big and so detailed.

You need new strong PC. I had similar problems on my old weak PC.

Yeah that is an unfortunate downside to this mod, it's resource heavy as hell.

I'm not sure how changeable the turn time is with the current number of factions and settlements, but I will say that it gets significantly faster as they game goes on (essentially as the small factions disappear).

Install the game on an SSD, helps fixing the load times a lot.
Is there a way to disable sone of the scripts to speed up turn times?

Task manager shows 30% at game start up and 10% mid game on resources used, game literally cant handle it because the engine is ♥♥♥♥. Literally says not responding when you press the end turn button. Needs optimisation pc isnt the problem.

Mods is amazing but gets obnoxiously unplayable real fast.

while loading the game peaks at 2.5Gb/s for 1-2seconds on my NVME

total % CPU load has never meant anything, you must look at it per core

but yeah the engine is already performing amazingly well all things considered

I was really enjoying the last version of the mod but unfortunately this new version slowed end turn wait times by several minutes/turn. It means that if I only have a couple hours to game, like 30 min will be spent staring at the screen :(

We really can't optimise it any more. Make sure the game AND mod is on the fastest SSD you can get and that you have a fast CPU. I use a Samsung 980 Pro and a Intel 12600k and turn times are around 1 minute.
