Black Mesa

Black Mesa

Black Mesa: Blue Shift
Game keeps crashing all the time
I don't know what to do. The game keeps on crashing every 5-15 minutes. First the sound loops and the picture freezes, than the sound continues and I can move the character, but the picture is still freezed.
I used the startup commands -game bshift -oldgameui but still no luck.
I deactivated undervolting for my CPU and overclocking for my GPU.

My system:
Asus G14
AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU
Win 11

Playing in 4@120Hz on a Eve Spectrum Monitor.

What seems to be the problem?

It could be DXVK, since one of the recent updates made it completely unusable for smooth gameplay
Try disabling it by adding this to your BM launch options
-game bshift -oldgameui -disabledxvk

5700X with 32GB RAM and a 9070 XT sometimes I crash and get this error message:

Engine Error
Out of memory or address space. Texture quality setting may be too high.

Yeah I have everything cranked up to the max but I would think my PC is good enough?!? :gordon:

That's a UI crash, completely unrelated to PC hardware
You'll have to run the game through oldUI, either via running bshift_oldUI.bat or adding
"-game bshift -oldgameui" in your Black Mesa launch options
