Spoilers ahead, debating if I should post this in general feedback and bug reporting but I want to confirm beforehand that I'm not just being a big idiot.

TL;DR
I restored power to the lift, then after got to lift controls and I think I might have softlocked myself.



So, its been decades since Iast played the OG blue shift as a child so I do not remember the story and the sequences within in the game. That being the case, I am on chapter 3 where you got to use explosive boxes to blow up the grinder. I got two of them and was trying to get the third. I see a ladder that was raised up that you cannot reach it from the bottom so my first instinct was to get to the ladder and to the door right next to it. Going up a small elevator, I got confused on how to reach that ladder so I decided to try one thing that I think caused a sequence break.

I decided to try to hug the wall and see if the ledge there was big enough for me to walk across. Turns out to be true and reached the ladder and walk through the door. After a bit, I come up to a point where I restored power to a lift I saw earlier. Afterwards, I get back to the main area and got confused on where to go next but then I saw there was a gap in the canal, went through there, and started to head towards lift controls. I eventually get to lift controls, press button, lift starts going down but stops midway, aliens spawn in, I kill them, etc.

Now here, I was really confused on what to do next. So, I decided to see a quick video walkthrough. To my big surprise, it appears that I was to go to lift controls first, then restore power. I tried to go back to the power controls but the door is locked. I think the game is programmed in a way that if you go through one area you cannot go back. So...I'm stuck.

I was wondering if perhaps this is the actual script and I'm missing something or that I have accidently sequence broke myself into getting softlocked. Let me know, I really don't want to completely start over chapter 3 because it felt really long.
