Let's talk about gasoline.
I was thinking about energy supply lately and it still boils down to batteries (or closed cycle reactors if you are rich enough) for me; Hydrogen engines on small grids as an emergency.
On large grids with the water mod (or another renewable water source), hydrogen can actually be a ressource friendly way of storing energy before you get your hands on batteries.

As of now, gasoline engines are just more efficient hydrogen engines. Both work with a gas you have to store and transport via conveyors.

I would love to see a "low tier closed cycled reactor"-type of block and I think this can be done via gasoline.

Let me talk crunch here:

A reactor in SE turns an Item into electricity. The advantage is you *can* use the conveyor, but you can also do it manually. For smaller builds where you want to safe space and weight, that is really handy. However, reactor tech is high tech in SE and IO in particular, and that's cool for me. As we have some tiers in IO regarding tech, I would love to have a low tier energy source which also works as I just described the reactors.

In comes the "jerrycan" fuel oil. A gasoline engine which runs with "items" (like uranium ingots in a reactor) instead of a gas system. While you do need a gastank IRL, you can also fill a generator with an inbuilt tank with a jerrycan.

Now the modding part: Is it actually possible to fill a gas-using engine via an ingot/item? We would need a way which turns a fuel item into gas.
Another option would be to completly rewrite gasoline system into an item based system instead of a gas based system, but I guess that's messing too much around.
A third option would a block which can turn jerrycan items into gas.

Let me know what you think about this. Imho a low tier block which turns items into energy is a cool alternative to closed cycle reactors.
