The output on RTGs seems to be very low. Less than half of a running wind turbine and a quarter of a solar panel. Yes, you don't have sun all the time and no wind in space, but the cost on RTGs is very high. I never tested them for that reason, so I think the only thing which would make them really usefull is the long duration.

How long is that duration, can you run it on 1kg uranium for several realtime days or what's the reasoning behind the RTG? Imho the energy output is too low for what you need to get an RTG running. Anybody got examples on where you use these?
