Crusader Kings III

Princes of Darkness
Diseases to oppressive
Cities like Rome will get development zeroed by plague, Rome can't even build influence of clergy (the only plague resistance building). Where you can build it you can only build one, but the worst part is it's development dependent, it'll be disabled when your county get savaged.

Your personal plague resistance don't apply to baronies you don't personally hold, so the only thing you can do is use up all your domain limit holding a single county. Otherwise the baronies will just get infected and eat all your development in your main city.

That or only use mines for income since mines are development independent.
Or only hold single settlement counties like Constantinople and Venezia. Literally more baronies in a county the worse it is, it's backwards.

So much for finding a prized high development city.

PS I'm converting to greek to get that sweet sanitation tech for 10 resistance everywhere.

Diseases are too oppresive even in vanilla right now. We are wairing to see if Paradox will hotfix them before changing stuff ourselves.

I don't think they're too oppressive... exactly. In Vanilla, building hospices in EVERY HOLDING is the only way to diminish the absolute nightmare they are.

My problem isn't how rare/not rare these are. My issue is how little control you have in interacting with it. Much like gaining things like the athletic trait, you're suffering from random chance. In a playthrough of mine, I had entirely coastal kingdom and only ONCE did I get the notification to close the ports. Once. Out of like 13 plagues. There needs to be more control, more features you can do. I'd like to see 'skills' give your leader themselves access to more decisions you can make. If I have 26 learning, please for the love of god let me close the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ports. Or start a mass call for physicians. Or something.

To cite a completely unrelated game: Heroes of the Storm's Abathur.
Fun to play. Absolutely unfun to play against, because you don't "play" against him. You survive him.

You are poking at the wrong tree honestly. All of what you are talking are vanilla issues. We really don't care that much about diseases for the WoD, we are just playing with the hand paradox is dealing us.
