Thoughts on Black Death not hitting South Asia?

First of all I LOVE the Black Death mechanic. It is brilliant and I wish it was part of the base game. I just find it odd that South Asia is spared its ravages.
Any thoughts on this?

Just thought to ask this, is there a mod to add Black Death to the base game? I will look for one now.
