[SOLVED] Compatibility between Alpha Biomes and Biomes! Islands
I am having an issue, which I narrowed down to using Alpha Biomes and Biomes! Islands together. Since it is impossible for me to figure out, which of these mods would need to fix the issue, I am posting this in both mods' discussions in hope of you both figuring it out together. See https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/1841354677/2150972948823920266/ for the other discussion.

Both mods add one or more mineable resources. Rose Quartz, Mudstone, Hardened Slime, Ancient Metal, Cragstone and Obsidian for Alpha Biomes and Coral for Biomes! Islands. Each mod - if and when being used on its own - adds these mineable resources only to its own biomes and not to vanilla biomes. Vice versa, vanilla mineable resources don't spawn in Alpha Biomes' biomes or in Biomes! Islands' Atoll biome - if and when being used on their own.

However, when being used together, the first of both mods in load order will spawn its mineable resources in vanilla biomes as well and vanilla mineable resources will also spawn in the mods' biomes.

So:
  1. Harmony
  2. Core
  3. Royalty
  4. Alpha Biomes
  5. Biomes! Core
  6. Biomes! Islands

leads to Rose Quartz, Mudstone, Hardened Slime, Ancient Metal, Cragstone and Obsidian spawning in vanilla biomes and vanilla mineable resources will spawn in Alpha Biomes' biomes.

And:
  1. Harmony
  2. Core
  3. Royalty
  4. Biomes! Core
  5. Biomes! Islands
  6. Alpha Biomes

leads to Coral spawning in vanilla biomes and vanilla mineable resources will spawn in Biomes! Islands' Atoll biome.

After narrowing it down to these two mods, no other mods were used in testing. Also: when deactivating Biomes! Islands and only using Biomes! Core and Alpha Biomes, the issue didn't occur, no matter the load order.

So it is obvious, that the conflict is between Alpha Biomes and Biomes! Islands.

I'd love to use both mods together, so I am hoping, one of you or both of you together can solve this issue.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, this sucks, I'm on it, I think I can fix this easily on my part

Ok, changed all I can on my side. For reference, here you have the code https://github.com/juanosarg/AlphaBiomes/blob/v2.04/1.1/Source/AlphaBiomes/AlphaBiomes/HarmonyPatchers.cs

I think you'll need to add a list of the rock types I have added at the bottom
Sarg Bjornson Apr 7, 2020 @ 6:22am
Right now, with Alpha Biomes set after Biomes: Islands in the load order both vanilla biomes, alpha biomes and the atoll have correct rock types. The tropical island biome though still adds any rock except for coral

Ok, ignore everything I said, I just changed in such a way that you guys don't need to modify the code :9 Do tell me if you add any other rock types, ok?

For the end user: Alpha Biomes needs to go in the mod list after Biomes: Islands. It will complain if it isn't so, too

Awesome, thank you Sarg! Anyone who uses Rimpy should automatically have this order once it is sorted, too!

Nice, thank you Sarg! Can confirm that it works as intended now.
