  • Skill Descriptions just say "Restore ."

Your 'Channel Source' ability is healing instead of giving the SP.
NOW I don't know if this is because:
1) I haven't gotten my collar taken off
2) I am playing with DU (Divinity Unleashed) which changes how a bunch of the base mechanics work.
Edit: Even without a collar it still just heals.
Might be a DU thing.

@RzRTelhalm, Good catch. It does appear to be a faulty interaction between this mod and Divinity Unleashed. "Channel Source" is implemented in a way that it technically "heals" your source, and from what I read, DU converts all forms of non-vitality healing into vitality healing.
Give me some time to work up a solution, and thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Update - The mod now detects Divinity-Unleashed and compensates accordingly. This fix can be manually enabled for any-other incompatible mods using the mod-menu.

Hey Hunter,

not sure if you're still working on this mod but i would like to report a bug. The channel source skills don't seem to work, in and out of combat. (Context: the game is multiplayer with multiple mods) If you'd like i can send you the list of mods or any other information you need! Thank you for the work done so far

hey man thank you for replying! no need to worry abt being late :D Should i post my list of mods here and comment more details or how do you want to do the follow through? Also our playthrough is still not over

What seems to be the issue? are they greyed out? does something (like animations) happen when you cast them? does the game crash? - Need more details to know what I'm looking at.

Compatibility issues are unlikely, so I'll ask for the modlist if and when we need it.

okay the details are as follows:

- The icons are not greyed out, and seems to be working fine
- All the skills can be casted
- After the casting animation the source points does not increase nor dicrease, meaning both channel and syphon source either did not work, or simply did not add the source points
- It doesn't matter if it's on 1st, 2nd or 3rd island that we get the book or started learning the skills, none of them gave source points

Do you guys use Divinity Unleashed (or some other overhaul)? This is similar to the first issue on this thread, where DU would convert source (+1sp) into vitality healing (+1hp). The mod ships with a contingency script to prevent this but it is possible this is same thing.

Also, do you guys use Norbyte's Script-Extender? and LaughingLeader's Mod Manager? both of these tools will make debugging this issue significantly easier.

A quick test you can try to determine if this is a mod-conflict is to run this mod alone and see if it works.

Backup your save files (Documents/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition/PlayerProfiles/{YOUR_PROFILE}/Savegames) someplace safe - In case something goes horribly wrong.

If you have a test savefile that you can use without risking your playthrough then use that. Make a new manual save to be extra sure.

Disable all mods except Channel Source and try to load into the game. It'll warn you about missing mods and potential crashes. Disabling mods midgame is a very bad idea, but we made backups for this very reason.

If the savefile loads, try casting the skills and see if they regen source points. You can also try only disabling the mod you suspect are causing the conflict. DO NOT save the game in this state, exit and restore the original files if you feel the need.

If the mod works on its own, then this is a mod conflict. Otherwise, you may have an outdated version of the mod.

thank you for the quick reply. We have DU and norbyte's script-extender yes. But in my solo play with DU (different save) i could use channel source without an issue. hence why i thought the first issue was irrelevant. I tried running different savefiles, and created a new solo campaign. It seems like it is indeed a mod conflict. I did not manage to pinpoint exactly which mod conflicts with channel source (we ran abt 50 mods for the playthrough, if it is necessary i can take sometime to try and find the specific one that conflicts CS) On it's own, channel source works fine. They regen source points and does the casting animation

Combine any CS skillbook with an identifying-glass to bring up the dialog mod-menu and choose option 1 (Skill Configuration). It should tell you whether the compatibility-scripts are enabled or disabled. If disabled, you can toggle them on from this sub-menu.
Try casting any CS skill and see if it fixes the issue.

The mod should've detected DU and enabled compatibility-mode automatically but it failed for some reason. I'll look into improving the system when I get the chance.

help i can't target my party member with siphon source
This seems to be something I'm seeing too, using DU. If a party member has no source, they're an "invalid target".. the moment they restore their source I can target them again, which seems to defeat the purpose?
