I dont know how it is know because i removed the mod from my save and cant add it again.
I have the same issue. Even with settling terrain with a higher-than-average bonus to a ressource and one of the basic buldings (in this case the wilderness guild) it seems to be impossible to make even the slightest profit.
I have the "ex-merc" faction trait, which makes workers more expensive, but the +10$ is negligible in the face of a margin of around -50 to-70$.
