Road Builder Spam Lag
Hi,
I have a problem with my Rimworld savegame.
For some reason the empire mod generates the following log entry:

"Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Check for null roadDef
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Check for null faction
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Get Faction settlements
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Add player settlement locations
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Add allied settlement locations"

the last line is repeated about a thousand times until it says:

"Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Pair with every other settlement
Unloading 0 Unused Serialized files (Serialized files now loaded: 1)
Updating Empire to Latest Version
Empire - Setting Null Variables
Empire - Testing Settlements for null variables
Empire - Testing for traits with no tie
Empire - Testing for invalid capital map
Empire - Testing for update change
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Check for null roadDef
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Check for null faction
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Get Faction settlements
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Add player settlement locations
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Add allied settlement locations"

the last line keeps on going until:

"Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Pair with every other settlement
Empire - Road queue for Lester's World already exists.
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Check for null roadDef
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Check for null faction
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Get Faction settlements
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Add player settlement locations
Empire - RoadBuilderQueue - Add allied settlement locations"

the last line is repeated until eventually it says:

"Reached max messages limit. Stopping logging to avoid spam."

This makes the game incredibly laggy and unplayable.

Did anyone have the same issue or knows how to solve it.
Or maybe is there a way to disable the Road Builder completely?

same issue here, its caused by the "road builders" trait if i m not mistaken. after it phucked up my game once i saved before taking the trait again. after getting the trait all's well at first, but after saving and loading you get that bug with the superlag.

solution? load a save from before taking the trait (did cost me 2 hours...)

Yeah, I also had a similar issue. If you don't have a backup save I would recommend the following steps: make a save, disable the mod, save/quit, reload your save with the mod disabled, make a new save, quit to main menu, enable the mod, then finally reload the new save with the mod enabled. This will make it so that you'll have to rebuild your faction from scratch, but you can avoid taking Road Builders and the tremendous lag that comes with it. I would recommend using development mode to get most of your faction back if you'd invested a lot into it.

Problem is, i didnt take the road builder trait. I just researched the dirt path technology. Maybe if you undo the research in the save-file and then uninstall and reinstall the mod, you dont have to revert to an older save. Then you just have to rebuild your faction. Ill try it and share my results
