REVIVAL STONES & PODS INFO

Dino Revival Stones are based on the 6 Kibble Types in Ark. Dinos will require a specific type of stone based on the type of dino. There is a (+) Plus version for each stone that will also include item/equipment recovery.
  • Basic / Basic+
  • Simple / Simple+
  • Regular / Regular+
  • Superior / Superior+
  • Exceptional / Exceptional+
  • Extraordinary / Extraordinary+
The revival stones will tell you whether they can be used when you hover over them. If its the correct type it will say in green 'Can Use'. If the wrong type it will tell you in red 'Cannot Use' and it will tell you what type of revival stone that type of dino requires.

The type of revival stone required for each dino type is assigned using 3 methods, listed in priority. If something does not apply then the next method is attempted.
  1. Kibble Type used to Tame the Dino
  2. Fertilized Egg Dino Lays, the Kibble Type it makes
  3. Dino Drag Weight, like for boss arena requirements
So that means first it checks if a dino prefers a type of kibble. Bear in mind this has nothing to do with whether a dino can be tamed, for instance Wyverns prefer Exceptional Kibble for some reason.

If the dino has no kibble preference then it checks whether the dino lays a fertilized egg when mated. If it does then the type of kibble that egg makes will be the revival stone type.

Finally, if neither of those methods work then the dino's drag weight is used to determine the revival stone type.
  • 1000+ = Extraordinary
  • 500-999 = Exceptional
  • 250-499 = Superior
  • 150-249 = Regular
  • 75-149 = Simple
  • 0-74 = Basic

Here is a Google Docs link that will show most Dino Kibble Types[drive.google.com]

There is also now an item you can craft for 1 stone in either station- Revival Stone Detector. Place it in a dino's inventory to see what type of stone is required.

When you revive your dino at the revival station, Dino Revival Pod is given. This is custom cryopod that does not spoil and it does not give cryo sickness. Release dinos from the revival pod the same as with a cryopod.

If used revival stone (+) Plus your dino's items will also be stored within the revival pod. Includes saddles, skins, all items. Spoil timers will be preserved from the time of death.

To avoid exploits the Dino Revival Pod cannot be deployed near an enemy base and you cannot admin spawn them.

This is a separate item- a custom Cryopod that is available for craft at the powered Dino Revival Station.
  • Will persist the Dino Revival buff (and any other persistent buffs dino has)
  • Decays at half rate of vanilla Cryopod (default, can change)
  • Can be recharged in -any- structure that draws power
  • Optional config to save all items, prevent cryosickness, and heal while podded

do the dinopods turn into regular cryopods if the mod is removed? i didn't even realize they were a thing until i tried to spawn in some vanilla cryopods and they somehow became dinopods in my inventory, which i'm not pleased about because i use cryopods as my most secure dino storage, and thus don't want mods involved with them like that. i tested it and i can still craft regulars manually, but why does the vanilla spawn code give me modded ones?

edit; it's the shortened spawn code that gives me the modded ones, the long code still works for vanilla thankfully, but i'm still interested in knowing if they convert when the mod is removed, or just vanish.

GFI uses some strange not fully understood logic under the hood that is hidden from us modders (as well as you players). It does some idiotic guessing at what class to load and so it often mucks things up when mods are involved. Hence the spawn issue.
But you can adjust the search text usually.
For instance, you could try 'EmptyCryopod', or perhaps even "EmptyCryo", and it should work. The word "empy" is not in the RMD Item's class name (which is what GFI searches for).

As to removal of the mod- if you do all items from this mod, including the pods, will be lost.
Any dinos not yet revived from death (at the station's UI), will not be lost.
