[SPOILERS!] Old Man Ending - theories
This thread contains spoilers for the Old Man Beta.
I will talk about the two endings I discovered for Old Man, + an observation.

I played Old Man a lot and got to the end rather quickly. Now, the final mission, for everyone interested, was to infiltrate Tuvanaka Island and destroy a weapon's lab, which I assume fabricated the Super-Malaria.

After successfully taking the facility down and escaping I got two calls: first one from Miller, telling me that I caused a distraction and that he and his team are now moving in to get the Counteragent.

The second from Doc Drabek, who told me that armed men (L'Ensemble guys) were tearing up the camp. So now I had to either go to St. Marie to link up with Miller and get the hell out of Tanoa, or to go to Drabek.

First, I went with Miller. Since Santiago isn't voiced yet, I can't exactly tell what the two were talking about but I'm guessing that Santiago wanted to give the counteragent to Drabek, but Miller the evil black ops Brit told me they had to go now.

I went with him and two other divers. We got into a SDV and the mission just ended. That was a little anticlimatic. So I decided to go again with the same save.

This time, I searched for the counteragent everywhere on Tuvanaka. I destroyed every AA Battery, and basically wiped CSAT off the island. But here's the problem: It was nowhere to be found.

Of course, this confused me greatly. It almost seems as if it didn't exist at all... weird. When I arrived at Miller's location that time I thought "well, why not shoot him maybe he has the counteragent". I wasn't right in that case, but one of the divers had it. I quickly brought it back to Drabek, who told me that L'Ensemble now for some reason hates my guts and I have to leave Tanoa.

So, these are the two endings I found. I didn't finish the second one because I was tired and honestly bored doing the same things over and over. Yet, I have a question to ask and two theories to add: What about the counteragent?
I searched all of Tuvanka. Nothing. So where could it be? No clue. But the Diver always had it, after Miller and his team apparently infiltrated and secured the sample. Could it be that CTRG had the sample for much longer already and were just using Santiago for their funny little agenda? Of course, a possibility is simply that the developers didn't intend the sample to be something you can find normally. You have to kill Miller it seems. But... Perhaps (and I hope because that evil British bastard is still my favourite character) they just forgot to add it in.

But then... there is a second theory. Unsatisfied with both endings, I looked a little more into the scenario and opened up the final mission (I am writing this off what I remember so it might not be 100% accurate). Now, surprisingly the entire Tuvanka Island wasn't included in it, so I am guessing it was in a different file I believe. But then I noticed something. A small objective called "SyndiVacci" (name not the same as ingame). It was a wreckee minivan with a box inside as it seemed.
Now what this causes me to think is that actually, L'Ensemble already had the vaccine, and Miller didn't take it from CSAT; he took it from Syndikat.
Of course this all is a little far fetched. Why would Miller not just tell us that Syndikat had it after he found out? Perhaps, he didn't want us to risk the mission or whatever. Afterall, we needed L'Ensemble on our side.

Yet, there is something that backs my second theory. The fact that Syndikat apparently doesn't like us anymore after this. Now I can only base this off Drabek's call, but here is what I believe: Syndikat thought that Santiago was indeed the person who took it from them. That is why they 'tore apart the camp' and shot around. L'Ensemble knew that if Santiago had the sample, he would bring it to Drabek.

I don't remember if Syndikat actually turned hostile after this, but interestingly I could still call Samjo for attacks. But it seems as if that was the absolute intention.

I am very sorry if some parts were not very understandable. I am not great at English and on mobile while tired. But I hope I still create a discussion where others share their own observations.

Thanks!

I think there's still something missing. Maybe if the AA Radar and Diary Missions worked, then better endings would open up.

i reinstalled arma just to play this mission. After finishing it (with the first ending you described) i wrote it off as an unfinished beta, decided i was better off waiting for the next update and uninstalled arma (nearly 1700 hours, i'm spent)

At any rate, now i might re install it to take a look at your theories. At first glance, i think the counter agent was a "meta" piece and was never truly in the game. Then i read you shot the diver and found that he had it on him. So i wonder if you can just b-line to the beach and hopefully maybe the diver spawns in before you talk to miller

That's a very plausible theory that Miller yanked the counteragent from L'Ensemble and they assumed Santiago was a rat. However, How did the rebels get the vaccine and how did Miller find out?

But if Santiago confirmed the Counteragent was at the dome on Tuvanka island and Miller said his team was on the way in, it doesn't make sense for Miller to lie and really direct his team to steal from the rebels anyway, especially if he didn't know they had it.

Now, I only tore apart the mission because i was curious as to how it was made, but now i might re install so i can maybe give the doctor as much medicine as he wants

How do you leave Tanoa after giving the counteragents to the doc? I can't find the submarine by Tavu

Ok, i choosed the NATO wayand i had to destroy the W-Lab after that i got some calls, first Miller wich told me the exit spot and than the Doc which sayed that Syndikat stays in the camp and search something and the other was from Samjo who told me that Syndikat knows about all what i did for NATO and mentioned that i should bring the Antidote to a place in Georgetown if i want a long and healthy life, i meet with Miller wich took me with him to the submarine, pretty cool but also pretty short in my opinion.

I would personally hide a second Antidote in the inventory of the W-Lab Commander wich allows you to rescue also your Friends but you renounce the exit with Miller.

The beach of that island where you meet up with him. I believe it's on the side that heads out to open ocean

This is the interesting part of the story. Miller's covert CTRG people are as fishy as they were in the main campaign gameplay of ARMA III. I had sort of the similar subtle feeling when I chose between Miller and the Doctor OR between Miller and High command in campaign.

As far as what I've played through, only one of the Miller's diver posses the antidote. That's the only antidote on the whole map. Regarding the "syndivacci", that's the object where you hand in the Antidote to Syndikat.

Let me take the wildest guess from here. Maybe CTRG is the culprit for this malaria crisis and causing regional instability? IDAP and CSAT are helping out there, although the intention of CSAT intrusion is way beyond just fighting the disease. There are many possibilities for this end game story but anyway I don't like CTRG at all, LOL.
