Hero Skills and Role Guide
Last updated: July 2021 for 2.3 Release

SPOILERS!

This thread contains all Perk Paths and possible random AWC perks. Avoid if you want it to be a surprise.

Chimera Heroes is balanced for use in all Squad sizes. Whilst Heroes now have a much greater selection available to them, some super powerful abilities have been pushed out of your reach until the end-game.

Reaper

Volk sends his regards.

Default Gear ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vektor Rifle, Claymore Default Skills ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shadow, Claymore, Squadsight, Tactical Rigging Stealth Saboteur Reaper ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPL | Silent Killer Remote Start Flash Round SGT | Sting Incendiary Shot Blood Trail LT | Needle Shrapnel Soul Harvest CPT | Shadowstep Hit & Run Hex Hunter MAJ | Distraction Highlands Lethal Instincts COL | Death Dealer Freerunner Banish BRG | Stinging Gale Homing Mine Annihilate Chimera Random Deck (provides four bonus abilities, mimics AWC) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Damn Good Ground, Target Definition, Lone Wolf, Death From Above, Serial, Deadshot, Low Profile, Deep Cover, Holotargeting, Storm Lance, Medishot, Hammer Shot, Weapon Expert, Singe, Deadeye.

The Chimera Reaper has been designed to improve her damage output across three distinct paths.

With Squadsight as a default perk, the Reaper can now actually clutch snipe. She still functions best as a recon asset, picking off a few hapless ADVENT whilst staying in shadow. However if you do go loud then the Reaper tree contains a few spicy perks for flanking and general harassment.

Skirmisher

Liberated from chains, the Slave becomes the Master.

Default Gear ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bullpup, Ripjack Default Skills ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marauder, Total Combat, Justice, Grapple Praetor Skirmish Wrath ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPL | Executioner Tactical Rigging Reckoning (Slash) SGT | Detonation Shot Return Fire Wrath LT | Tesla Rounds Whiplash Full Throttle CPT | Combat Presence Guardian Retribution MAJ | Redscreen Freezing Lash Coup de Grâce COL | Predator Vision Manual Override Judgment BRG | Battlelord Forward Operator Shellburst Stab Chimera Random Deck (provides four bonus abilities, mimics AWC) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reflex, Zero In, Flush, Iron Curtain, Center Mass, Bring 'Em On, Personal Defense Shield, Reinvigorate, Implacable, Merciless, Flashbanger, Vile Concoctions, Tactical Sense, Field Medic, Light Ordnance.

The Chimera Skirmisher is intended as a flexible front-line class who can adapt to any mission. That said, they excel at fast-paced missions, such as extraction or bomb disposal, where their multiple action economy skills can shine.

Also... Freezing Lash from Alien Hunters. FREEZING LASH Commander.

Templar

The next stage in Humanity's ascendancy? Or arrogant swordsmen playing with powers they do not fully understand?

Default Gear ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shard Gauntlets, Autopistol Default Skills ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rend, Templar Focus, Volt, Momentum Psi-blade Focus Templar ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPL | Parry Channel Lightning Reflexes SGT | Overcharge Amplify Quickdraw LT | Heaven's Scale Sustain Punisher CPT | Bladestorm Deep Focus Deflect MAJ | Arc Wave Fortress Reflect COL | Shadow Blade Void Conduit Ionic Storm BRG | Rend Fleche Ghost Storm Force Chimera Random Deck (provides four bonus abilities, mimics AWC) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Athletic, Pillar, Invert, Exchange, Solace, Frantic Fire, Wounding Shot, I Meant To Do That, Hard Target, Aftershock, Lightning Strike, Phantom, Spectral Shift, Stun Strike.

The Templar has required the most work, with multiple version builds.

The Chimera Templar is a fairly straightforward damage dealer, able to 100% hit and finish targets in Shard melee.

Get up close to the enemy and play recklessly, either evading away or parrying. If you find yourself next to an adjacent enemy heal yourself with Heaven's Scale.

The autopistol is given a killzone skill - Punisher - which can be surprisingly potent in a confined space as the autopistol comes with unlimited ammo.

Despite being very strong, the Chimera Templar has 3 drawbacks to consider:

1) Decent ranged damage requires focus.
2) Charging in for glory WILL reveal pods.
3) Expect wounds and injury time from risky gameplay.
