Rule creating UI.
Seems like Vortex from nexusmods has such a thing.
Mod groups.
I'd like to see grouping like "Animals", "Medical" or even by mod like "Combat Extended". Preferable user created groups.
Additionally enabling/disabling entire group.
Maybe even gathering user created rules to share them.
Check pastebin API.
Something like this...
Updating your own rules.
1. Get current public rules.
2. If user hasn't some rules add them to his file.
Updating public rules.
1. Get current public rules.
2. Compare with user's rules.
3. If user has new rules:
3.1. Get a list of your Pastes to get paste_key.
3.2. Delete old Paste using paste_key.
3.3. Create a new Paste with new rules.
I would also really appreciate if I could add tags, sort by them, and color code them. Being able to sort by color/tag would be great as well!
Also i would like to ask if it is possible for you to make mod with exact same rimpy options but organizing mods through in game mod menu, i think organizing through game is much better than window app, i my self prefer a mod organizing my mods rather than a windows app, considering more players will install and use it and it grow faster.
Thank you for your awesome mod organizer.
- mod groups (by LetsOffBrains)
- tag mods (by Man O' Awesome)
- linux support (by XMrProX)
- C# version of RimPy (by XMrProX)
@LetsOffBrains, I don't see a need to add mod groups since you able to color mods and filter by color. @Man O' Awesome, the same for mod tags. So both of them low priority (no ETA, but maybe someday).
@XMrProX, Rimpy support Linux by default, but I am a little lazy to compile it every update because most players uses Windows. You are the second person who asked for Linux support, XMrProX. I will try to build both Windows and Linux next release - 1.0.1.0, so you will not need Wine and you get full functionality. Sorry, but you have to wait sometime till next release. Probably, there will be no C# version of RimPy, since I program on Python and not C#. So RimPy will be a third party software not a mod for RimWorld.
Other feature requests were already implemented. Thank you for your interest and ideas. Happy New Year!
(2) Being able to set the launch options for the Run button. For instance, here's how I set it to launch in Steam: https://i.imgur.com/3g3AM3s.png
(3) If a folder named 'Config' exists within the RimPy directory, i would like it to store its settings there instead of the "%LOCALAPPDATA%Low\RimPy Mod Manager" folder.
(4) Auto-remove 'RimPy Mod Manager Database' from the Active mod list, and hide it in the Inactive mod list.
Tags are also a possibility since a mod can fill more than one niche.
Comparing the difference between saved lists (and highlighting in them active area)
Use-case: debugging problematic mods by moving around groups of mods
The ability to create custom "profiles" that manage the Game Folder, Config Folder, Steam Mods, and Local Mods folder locations.
So users could quickly swap between several installed copies of RimWorld from within RimPy and be able to manage them individually.
(For example, I use both Steam and non-Steam builds that are installed in separate locations. It would be nice to quickly be able to swap between folder paths inside of RimPy for each install, instead of having to manually change to and from each folder path individually.)
