Does the event get triggered again or was it a one time thing, and any tips on how to destroy them? thanks

If you want the 'true' ending then you shouldn't destroy Everfree and you should let it be free. Just fall back around it. . To destroy the Everfree you need to start producing bombers(tacticals and strategic) as early as right after the war ends. You need 400 strategic and 800 tactical if i am not mistaken. You will also need to research a lot of the changeling technologies beforehand and start researching nukes either before or right after Everfree rebels. If you do these things and also have done the Jagdkommando focus before Everfree rebels then you should be able to take the focuses to put down Everfree. Those are Fall Gelb, Fall Rot and another one i forgot about.

well, if it is free and you took the 'good' options then at some point some people will have to go to Everfree for something. If you want more details(spoilers) then say so

no. good things 'can' happen instead in Everfree if you do 'other good things'
