A Rework of the Dread League Story-line?
The Dread League and especially the Coven of Blood in my opinion is the most interesting nation in this mod. The story it is comprised of something extremely new and interesting no matter how one looks at it... Yet it feels like its ending story is horribly rushed compared to its beginning. Sure Rosa Maledicta brings death to the world in the end and then nothing? If one focuses on Rosa's background you can tell she is a pony disgruntled with the world enough to want to bring about its demise but exactly so wouldnt she want to change it in her own wicked ways? Right now there is nothing after that very short notice of the success of the black crusade.
What i am saying is that it almost feels like The Dread League gets an ending of a cliche zombie apocalypse that wasnt stopped but instead took over the world. Which is a shame since the way the Dread League is written it looked bleak and dark while at the same time avoiding that boring trope we so often see in movies and series like 'The Walking Dead'. The Dread League as is presented is the forces of death that have such an evil plan that much exceeds the usual 'kill everything'. If one was to describe it in a shorter manner i could say that the goal of the Dread League is to plunge the world into an endless nightmare. Something which in my mind includes much more than the demise of all life.
I will not talk about points other players have so often made namely that the Dread League when played by the AI is completely hopeless or that unless you play in a very specific manner it is nearly impossible to win the black crusade. For the first point i say that the Dread League is not a nation meant to do things unless it is played by the player. For the second i would say that as i have already said that while true you need to rush the black crusade in order to win, namely being forced to play a specific way, that doesnt mean that a late black crusade is 100% doomed to fail. So this post is not about these certain shortcomings but rather about the story-line of Rosa Maledicta and specifically about its certain uninspiring ending while it began promising and delivering a great plot.
I write this as i feel that the plot of the Dread League has a lot of wasted potential. I know this is just a mod made by modders, people not paid to do what they are doing and who as all of us players have real life issues to attend to. And i am truly grateful for this momentous mod which has blessed this community, i truly am. I am just saying that if possible this opportunity for a decent ending to the story of the Dread League that i can only describe as marvelous and nothing less is effectively exploited.
For the suggestion i have given i am willing, nay more than willing, to contribute in case the modders see that as a beneficial idea. I cannot mod per say but i have some suggestions for the Dread League which may be useful. Not only that but i can actually write the story altering just the events about the Windigo and the ending event. If then the modders of this mod think my changes are, say, an improvement to the current situation they could implement them in the next update. Of course i say that unknowing of how modding works and whether it is a difficult issue to change the event descriptions or not.
The sole reason i am writing this is because i have extremely enjoyed this mod so far and especially the Dread League. Furthermore i have seen a growing interest in recent days about the mod and for the Dread League specifically meaning that people other than myself would be more than glad to see some sort of change in that 'loose end' of Rosa Maledicta's story-line.

I thought it would be better to be given two options. A)Your suggestion or

B)Rosa sees her quest of the black crusade from a different perspective. She was meant to vanquish the living because that was the only way she could actually SAVE the world. A world so much derailed from the right path could literally no longer be changed in any possible way to be saved. War would be an eternal reality and the condition would only worsen. So in order to create a BETTER world she realizes that she HAD TO KILL OFF EVERYTHING. She must as her duty END the world in order to allow it to be rebuilt from scratch. Only then could a new reality be conceived one that would really see true greatness revealing in the end that the darkness that she had to spread was actually better than the light and death better than life.

The Black Crusade becomes sth greater. A crusade to rebuild a world which to be effective can only happen if the world is completely cleansed of its own current poisoned existence. Because the light it is living currently is the poison fooling it into an appeasing lie. On the other hand she decides that even morally what she is doing is the right thing as the darkness may be painful and so is death but it is the only truth in the end, the only truth able to wake the world and rebuild it from its foundations once more greater in darkness. Better an evil murderous truth than appeasing lies in short.

In other words Rosa on option B concludes that her Evil is Salvation. And realizes her true potential as the one to exterminate and thus save the world! After her campaign of extermination she then takes the necessary measures to ensure that the world through darkness is never again brought to the light and thus never again derailed from the righteous path of death.

What i mean is that Rosa Maledicta's story has one fundamental flaw. It uses rational logic. It thinks within a box that instructs us to condemn darkness or death as bad and claim that light and life are good. There the story is lacking. Rosa has as her character says the potential to think beyond the boundaries into something which we consider insane. But it is not. It is fully sane just not something we are used to. It is an option outside the box. Rosa can only claim true assertion to greatness if she as a character breaks that barrier. She finally sees outside the box and doesnt see what she does as sth bad but as sth good and furthermore sth that is a necessity for the betterment of the world. Noone will ever be able to understand her but that is natural as she has far exceeds regular thought with this mind set. She has eluded the meaning of words and connected opposites and can now use everything in existence interchangeably leading to her being able to access an infinite number of solutions to any problem.

I agree that Dread League story-line could use some rework (mainly after starting the crusade).

Some time after starting black crusade Rosa meet with a windigo and learns that windigos had manipulated her into starting crusade (they also hired assassins on headmaster of Arcturian Order). Rosa think that even windigos had pushed her into doing this she will continue as she herself want it and swear that they will see. And that's all, no epic showdown or confrontation, what leave the story without a proper ending. Adding a a text-only event or spawning wendigo nation somewhere at the map to fight with would be good.

Getting back to the crusade itself only special things in it are that little decisions giving you research bonuses based on with who you fight at the moment. There could be events and decisions about making preparations to battle specific nations or in specific regions, resurrecting new generals and advisors from tombs and battlefields as you progress through the lads of living (with different outcome based on the path you took at the start), turning the arcurian order into undead knights for example.

Another important aspect are racial research of Dread League. It's lacking some necromancy based techs and special elite units, necromancers and/or liches/vampires for example.
