Enemy Cities are completley broken.
Enemy cities are completley broken.

I mean the ones with the description:"A dangerous, lawless, gang-controlled city".

For starters, the whole place is full by freely roaming prisoners from different factions. For some reason your colonist, if drafted of course, will shoot this prisoners on sight, doesn't matter if they are from an enemy faction or not. So yeah, an attack to a enemy city may cause your relations to go down to -80 with friendly factions.

People from the enemy faction that actually controls the city will attack you randomly (Some may ignore you). But your colonist will attack them on sight if drafted. Pretty weird. When one of the enemy faction members tries to attack you, the others will remain roaming the city without purpose. Is just really strange. Also, your colonists try to escape every single enemy faction member they see. Even prisoners, or pawns who are actually totally ignoring them, unarmed even.

Then, doors. You can open every door, even if it's not claimed by your faction. When you claim a door inside an enemy city, the enemy faction can't actually pass through it, but prisoners from enemy factions can. It's kinda infurating.

That's not all! Prisoners from the enemy city faction will detect your prisoner beds as beds for them, and will go lay on them. Even if they are from an enemy faction.

Thanks for taking the time to write this out; I'm in the process of fixing some of these issues. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye on suggestions for what specifically could be changed or improved for the hostile/compromised cities.

Turning off fire at will when drafted would take care of half these things.
That was the first impression for me I got from this mod as well, not a good start really. And that was almost a year ago..

So, September 23rd 2021 Update to the "Cities Broken" Thing. XD I Run a HEAVILY, and I Mean (SUPER-HEAVILY) Modded Rimworld. Lots of "Vanilla Expanded" Some Custom Improvements (Like Fluffies Mods), Rimmunation and Other Chicken Plucker Mods. Factions, Aliens, That sorta Super-Modded Hellscape. And I Tried the Citadel Take-Over Start. I Essentially made 5 Tricked out Space-Marine Terminators, Got to the Actual Citadel, Game Crashed. Too many Prisoners and Enemies, Objects, Entities, and such. Also, My 5 Starters were Eternally in "Drafted" Mode. I couldn't UN-Draft them. I could Draft and Un-Draft The Prisoners i Freed, But i Couldn't Undraft my Starter guys. Even More-So, The Crash? I'm Running Rimworld on a Alienware Aurora R10. Thats a powerful setup. NOT powerful enough to run 5 Spacemarines trampleing a Raider Citadel Sadly.

I have a problem in the enemy controlled cities as well. As mentioned above most of those problems affect my game as well. however i am not able to claim a structure in this city to setup as my home base. Therefore i am unable to deconstruct walls etc. and i am not able to move furniture around either. From what i can tell reading other online information i would have to kill or remove every member of the controlling faction on the map before i could then claim a building, as they are not abandon otherwise. To work around this i role play it out such that after my pawns totally clear a city block of enemy pawns, i declare it as mine. I then use the dev tools to deconstruct everything and then rebuild it. This then sets the flag to my faction, so i can work with it normally. Is there any other way to "claim" structures that would be easier?

@GravyGirl odd right, its kinda like I don't watch videos for other peoples opinions unless I want to see them. The R10 has and still serves me faithfully, its only a few small issues with it. Notably the Fact that i forgot to order a Liquid-Cooled Tower so my PC runs a little hotter than Normal in the Summer.
