Is dynamic lane change a hack?
So comparing the game to IRL situations, the regular AI will on start of its journey select a path and keep to it no matter what. It's a if the driver knows the road network of his city 100% and willingly drives into huge traffic jams just to never change his selected course, ever.

I see the mod has dynamic lane changing off by default (advanced AI is off too).
Why?
Any sane person OF COURSE chooses a less jammed lane until he or she gets near the target location. THEN it makes sense to keep on the right lane but most of the journey it's perfect sense to change lanes.

I never feel truly happy to use mods to change something as fundamental as the traffic simulation. But here I really have to ask myself what devs thought when creating this utterly unrealistic cim driving behavior. They otherwise act rather clever, finding alternative routes to avoid heavy traffic. Why not use lanes as they are intended?

How much 'hack' do you think enabling advanced AI and dynamic lane swapping is? Should I feel guilty for using it? Or isn't it much more like real life?

Thanks for some opinions! :)

I think that short description should answer on most of your questions.

Yup, so it's definitely legit and more realistic than the base game. Good, not a hack. Once I switched advanced AI on my traffic % went up by some 20% or more. Stoopid vanilla cims ;)
