Disabling the bulk system in CE
Title says it all, is there a way to keep CE and disable the bulk system, or is there a mod for that

I would like to know that as well. I started using CE for the first time today. I created a loadout for my pawn to only take 10 arrows with her. But for starters: Another Mod seems to interfere with this. Sometimes the Button to create a loadout is there and sometimes it's not and suddenly my pawn carries 33 Ammo with her again. The second problem is that even when my bulk is not fully filled up i'm getting the message that taming can't happen because inventory is full. Then i check my Pawn and she carries like 10 Veggies with her that she wants to use to tame animals, which is already to much weight for her, but the loadout button is not there and even if it would be it's really a hassle to set numbers for absolutely every item in the Game to restrict my pawn from taking to much of item X with her. Maybe there's something i don't understand about this Mod and the Bulk System, maybe it's only meant for Hardcore players who really want to Micromanage every Action to the limit. I do like the idea behind CE and projectiles and everything but the Bulk System is to restricting for my liking. :(

Yeah it would be nice to not have my pawns functioning at ~90% or less work speed because god forbid I don't want to micro manage their inventories any time a raid happens (and forbid any and all weapons in the meantime so they don't automatically pick them up). I get the concept but the fact that with this mod enabled literally none of your pawns will ever be at their full work speed capacity unless they have absolutely nothing on is just bad. The bulk work speed punishment shouldn't kick in until ~25-50% bulk, and should cap out at 85% or so at 100% bulk imo. Or just not exist at all, I'd disable it all in a heartbeat.

I like this mod but didn't like how the bulk/weight system was set up. I found a fix that works for me. Do a search in your mods folder for Stats_Pawns_Inventory.xml If you edit this file you can change the defaultBaseValue of pawns maximum carry weight and bulk to a much higher value. Keep in mind it will increase the bulk/weight capacity for all pawns including enemy factions.

i wish there was a separate mod without the reloading or the bulk, just the combat mechanics

I honestly have just given up on CE as a whole. I subscribe to a collection of mods that sort of replaces it but to a less quality degree. CE conflicts with everything, even what it has built in patches for. The systems don't work well. The ammo system is super glitchy. It by itself even breaks my game when I use the github version, and I am just sick of it. I can't use a lot of the mods I want to with CE, EVEN WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY COMPATIBLE. I just can't even.

Just finished a tool for setting global multipliers including for bulk, worn bulk, and carry bulk https://github.com/Jacbo1/CE-Redef
You could of course set the multipliers to 0 or if the game doesn't like that set a really small value like 0.001

would this be something you could upload to the steam workshop?

No sorry I don't know how to make a mod, especially something like this. I would think it'd have to be loaded in parallel to CE or something which isn't possible.

Yo im trying to download ur tool but the website is confusing me. first can you apply the tool mid game? and how do i download it?
Jacbo Oct 1, 2021 @ 11:34am
Yes you can apply mid-game. Go to the releases to download the v1.3 exe one of the CE_Redef.jar files. The JDK 17 version is for if you have the Java JDK 17 already installed (v1.2 only works on JDK 17). The other version (v1.1 and v1.0 as of now) are for JRE 8 which is more standard and what other java based software would probably be using. If you don't have either, the JDK 17 one will run faster and have a fixed gui but installing JDK 17 messes with something and kinda breaks other .jar files that need JRE 8 until you uninstall JDK 17. JDK 17 can be downloaded here https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/ and JRE 8 can be downloaded here https://www.java.com/en/download/
Btw only download one

I do plan on learning a different language like C# and remaking this because I am not a fan of how jank this turned out using Java. If/when that happens I'll just update the github repo with the new version. That one I think would also be a .exe file instead of a .jar and you might not need to have anything else installed to use it.

CE Redef has been completely rewritten in C#. No more requirement for a specific Java version depending on which branch you use. No more broken interface just from being compiled to the standard version of Java. Much faster and more responsive.
