Late game slowness
It looks like having an overabundance of items causes my late game to lag horribly. It runs smooth for 2 seconds, pauses for 1, runs for 2. Using the Dubs Performance Analyzer, I can see that there's a spike from the storage every time it freezes.

Any suggestions for how to prevent FPS death from having too many items? Is it better to have one massive storage facility or spread it out? Or do you just need to make sure you keep your supplies to a "reasonable" level?

Reasonable, probably. What version are you looking at? There have been various discussions about caching data, and I was hoping 1.4 was better about it, so nothing was needed this end...
Can you give me details from the Performance Analyzer?

Everything's up to date and using 1.4. It was going really well, but I think I got in some massive harvests (colony of about 10 people was starving and I think I overcompensated on food) and have... Well, I can only select 14,000 corn at once, but that's not all of it. So I think that's what did it.

That was it, just piled up 30k corn onto a caravan to go dump and as soon as I queued it to load everything went back to being zippy fast.

Does it take less processing if you use a few huge storages or a bunch of smaller ones? Or is it all the same just in slightly different places?

It's all /about/ the same :/ As far as I know. Details from the performance analyzer would be really helpful for answering that question, actually - it might make a difference *WHERE* in the hauling manager things are slowing.
If we can find a way to cache things efficiently, it's possible more things in storage might actually speed things up?

I have the same problem. LWM.DeepStorage.PatchDisplay_SectionLayer_Things_Regenerate:Transpiler creates too long delay for calculations.
I can give you logs or something, just tell me how.
