Can't place a unit using hotkey
Hey!

I've came across a bug which totally ruins the game for me. The problem is, I'm unable to place the units on the chessboard using hotkeys. In order to put the unit on the board I need to click on the courier, then MANUALLY click on the "Place Unit" button (using mouse), then finally put the unit wherever I want it.

I assume I should be able to push "Q" and just place the unit, once I chose the courier, however that's not the case for me. Clicking on skills with only your mouse is simply annoying.

Is there a way to fix this?

yes , go to dota 2 options > kaybindings , in top left up corner have "skills" keybinding , allow use "quick cast" = check it and that all .

That's not it. It still doesn't work. Beside that all other skills like recall or sell unit work just fine. I choose courier, use hotkey of sell and - and the unit is sold. If I do the same with hotkey of place unit - nothing happens, as if no button was pressed.

It seems that there is a problem with my hotkey. I use custom hotkeys for skills (QWER - 123R) and by pressing 1 (which is equivalent for q, so "place unit") the view of the map is centred on mine, instead of choosing and placing the unit as it should do.
I assume that must be the problem. Is there solution to this? So I can use my own hotkeys?

I guess unbind 1 from center view on yourself

If that doesnt work, change move unit back to q

Where do I find this option? The unbind one? Moving hotkey back to q does the trick, however after 6 years of playing dota with my custom hotkeys I'll really like to have it how I like it.

1 is already bound to another hotkey, like you've noticed (centers the map)... Look around in the options for it

On normal dota matches the binding works just fine, so I assume that the problem occurs only in auto chess. Are there additional keys settings or general options for auto chess?

Not afaik, but 1 is bound to center view by default (2 3 4 also in normal dota, but they don't apply in auto chess it seems), so why don't you try unbinding that?

I'm just making an educated guess here from looking at the options, the only way to see if it works is if you try it.
