Bug reports
This is a centralized topic to report bugs, since the new topics created don't send you a notification.

If you want me to take a look at your error, I NEED you to submit error logs. It is crucial you provide me with Hugslib logs - I am not interested in comments ‘X doesn’t work because Y’, and I will not reply to those, even delete them if they hide proper bug reporting. Hugslib logs are what tells us, devs, what went wrong, and what mods you were using.

IF YOU DON'T POST A HUGSLIB LOG, YOUR REPORT WILL BE DELETED FROM NOW ON TO AVOID CLUTTER.

To get hugslib logs, make sure you have a Hugslib mod running, then press CTRL-F12 while in game and copy the link to us.

I'm okayish with that, though... They are newborn spiders, in a hostile environment, and many of them will get killed if they desperately attack bigger prey than they can handle. In my plathroughs they tends to start with the smaller prey first, and as they deplete it they move to bigger things

Tamed nightling frequently collapses due to extreme exhaustion because he doesn't go to bed during the day.

Hi,

Love this mod, but I have to disable after a week time cause suspect it cause an issue that broke my running game. Suspected root cause as this Alpha mod, but am not sure. In particular, suspect a bad interaction between Orion Hospitality mod and this mod for an event that was triggered by Hospiality.

The same error was occuring before I disabled Alpha, but I didn't record the stack/log. I suspect the object (visitor I had to delete) was from Hospitality mod, but it had a bad interaction with this mod for some reason.

Sorry,I don't see how this could be confliciting with Hospitality at all! In any case I have stopped using Hospitality in all my playthroughs because it gives way more problems than it is worth

Started a new game becouse the previous took too long to load, 28 minutes, the save file is 180 mb, and the new game save file is already 94 mb on day 4, the curious detail is the animus vox battle log upon loading takes 10-15 seconds to load completely in game. Also it appears that they hunt across whole map from the spot that they stand, and theres errors like "AA_AnimusVox31457 meleed Hare72158 from out of melee position" that saved in log constantly.
It might actualy have something to do with "Targeting Modes" of XeoNovaDan.

Yep, that's another mod's doing. If you look at the XML code for the Animus Vox, you'll see it is just a fox with a different Thinktree, that allows it to use psionic nuzzle instead of the vanilla one, certainly nothing that could affect battle logs in the slightest. Doesn't even have any weird attacks or ranged attacks, just straight up copied and pasted from a vanilla fox

Hi had just an arctic lion event. Just want to say that i like the idea that he is invisible but i can just click on the wildlife tab and can see where it is. So this mechanic needs some change in my opinion. Also I play in a warm biome, it is actually winter and has 6C temperature outside (no snow nothing). I thought it will only spawn in arctic biomes. It is somehow immersion breaking.

So I'm having problems with people leaving my map, seems to be triggered by trying to load a caravan - it generates an infinite "Object reference not set to an instance of an object / at Verse.AI.Group.Lord.LordTick" error, prevents pawns from progressing past "Gather animals" while loading caravan, and prevents friendlies from leaving map. The friendlies can be forced to exit thru dev mode, but have to use fast caravans + teleportation to do a caravan.

I found someone with identical problems and looked thru their mod list and this is one of a few we had in common (we also share EPOE, animal said, some hair), and I see Fragtzack up there has the same infinite error in their log (also their link is broken, it's at https://steamcommunity.com/app/294100/discussions/0/3374780959378563300/ ). I'm still not certain that this is from your mod, but at least mine isn't caused by Hospitality, since I never had it. I do suspect possibly Pick Up and Haul, or KV Faction Control (I started with this but disabled it immediately as it didn't work like I assumed), or a combination problem (picking up items from your mod? black hive faction?)

In both times I triggered it (I resettled my colony entirely to clear the error the first time), the caravan in question had animals from your mod and insect meat (which I saw you mention is affected by this mod?). The second time I also had a problem that I could bring insect hives down to 0%, but not destroy them; and had black hive jelly appear alone without announcement on the edge of the map once.

I did try destroying all insect meat, insect jelly, hives, items made from insect meat, jelly, and chitin, and all tamed and wild animals from your mod, and all items made from meats, hides, etc from your mod, but the error is still infinitely generating. Here's a log made right after that point:

After this I made a duplicate save, disabled your mod, and tried a bit more troubleshooting. Looks like there's a LordJob_AssaultColony with 0 members, which only disappears upon things like regenerate map, and not destroy all things. By going into openviewsettings -> draw lords, I could actually find the "toil:NULL" on the map. However, I can't t:destroy it like Fragtzack did. Instead, I edited the save directly, replacing the interior of the <lordManager> section with just <lords />, as it appears in a healthy save. Worked fine.

However, I can't seem to intentionally replicate the problem, even with all of the original mods activated. I guess I'll just play on the fixed save without AA, and if it does happen again, I'll let you know it wasn't yours after all.

When i try to spawn a black hive incident using dev mode i get the folowing errors:

Nothing happens after that.

EDIT:
It seems that i have the exact same problem as SEAFIISH. I just notices that my caravans are not leaving the map, and friendlies are breaking down, and going berserk from malnutrition.

Disabling the mod doesnt fix the issue, and i have no idea how to fix it.

Edit2: so i tried to edit the save file myself, found the LordJob_AssaultColony inside the lordmanager section, i deleted the contents of the lordmanager section.
now the caravans are fixed, no more looping error, but my colonists lost the ability to eat their meals. when they finished eating, they just drop the meal on the ground and starve to death. i must have done something wrong.

I *think* I have fixed the Lord issues, but it's hard to say since I've been unable to replicate it... I'll upload a new version of the mod with several new creatures in a couple days, and the update should hopefully avoid this happening again

Got it, and i was able to reproduce the error occuring in the first place. I was able to reproduce the error by just forcing a black hive invasion with dev mode. My theory is that i tried to force it before it happened naturally for the first time. the fix for when the error occures is editing the save file, finding the <lordmanager>, and deleting all the items with <faction>null</faction> in it. delete the whole listing, so starting with <li> and ending with </li>
if that leaves nothing between <lords> en </lords>, replace those with <lords />

the problem with my pawns not eating, was apparently related to cooked meals that contain animal meat from this MOD.
With this solution i could just leave AA installed and running. hopefully it wont happen again if i just leave the forced spawning of a black hove attack alone.

I use dev mode to force events all the time :) It's the only way to test it! I tried everything but didn0t get those errors. I got others by saving and loading under different scenarios, though, so I hope the way I recoded everything fixes the issues

As for the pawns not eating, the only way that could happen is if the save had meats that were later removed, but I haven't done that in at least three weeks

I've been having a lot of these lord issues today and yesterday, especially relating to never-ending parties where my colonists are literally dying to party on. From intensive googling this mod and Hospitality seem to come up as potential candidates somehow? As I don't know anything about modding I honestly don't know. Could this still be a bug related to AlphaAnimals?

The error with the lord jobs is due to the faction for the bugs missing. Start a game without this mod, save it, load it with this mod and spawn a black hive. Your code on the hive does create a lord job even if the faction is null and if one lord job fails all following jobs are ignored. Thats why caravans and parties etc. are no longer working.
