Feature Suggestion
Hey Keks,

Just a small idea for a feature suggestion, would it be possible to have the drills use their second fire mode in like an "excavation" behavior setting? this would allow us to use our minor as an automatic excavation unit for digging out areas to build underground bases and such, without having to go back to dock to dump resources every couple of minutes.

Sadly it is not possible to activate that mode with a script.

I fixed this a little bit by breaking the connections to the storage containers and putting ejectors on the drills themselves that are always on. So the ship never gets full enough to go empty itself, and when its charging at base it empties out fast enough.

Just breaking the connections doesn't work as the thing will dock to re power and still wants to empty the drills. In theory this could be fixed without the ejectors, haven't tested this but if you have a cargo container out of the loop ( so it remains empty at all times) with enough storage to keep the ship below 95% while the drills are full. If you connect only the drills to the connector, the ore will transfer fine while docking.

What about a output mission command that gives you it's path and mission area for you to store elsewhere and be able to put back in via maybe argument or LCD. So that you could have several different missions.

Ex of where this could be useful
You are out of cobalt so you can't make grids to just make another.

Adding a option in ( Setup Mining Job ) to dig only without gathering ore that's possible? ... Usefull for clearing terrain before seting real job and digging underground base

just have drills that aren't connected top the cargo and that don't account for the set amount of cargo

Whould it be possible to have a command to stop the current hole it is doing to go to the next one? When drilling some whole asteroids, there is a lot of the hole that are outside the bound of the asteroid. Being able to skip these could accelerate the process.

You mentioned that the character limit imposed by SA scripts makes it impossible (or at least very difficult) to implement a very solid navigation method, that will move the ship from point A to B without any intervention from the user. Would it be possible to achieve this with a separate (possible optional) mod that PAM utilizes to carry out such pathing tasks.

it would be enough if keen would fix their remote controller. I think a specialized mod for that is a little bit over the top ;)

How about a "Strip mining" mode. Where it goes down layer by layer instead of digging the singular tunnels and possibly getting stuck.

Could a safety feature be added that if a player gets in the way of the grinder or miner that the ship auto pauses and then unpauses when the player gets out of its way?

you can already do that, add a new sensor detecting players (or whatever you want) and set it for:
activation: run PAM programmable block with argument STOP
desactivation: run PAM programmable block with argument CONT
