The Orders of Chivalry

Suggestions
Knight order as society, who are loyal to Ruler and country. They should also serve as bodyguards.

Body guards in battlefield, Defend against assasination attempts and defend against hermetic order breake in.

Female lady order should also serve as "maiden lock" so young ladys wont get seduced and spoiled.

I had planned a "royal knight order" society a few months ago while working on this mod. It would get linked to a king/empire title and keep its ruler (the player) as society master. Unlike normal societies, this time the player is the one giving the missions, manually, to the members and pay the rewards from his own pockets. Give a mission to a society member to protect you to increase plot defense and so on (the anti-seduction thing could be tricky to make). The AI would request rank up and favors from you and you can accept or not, happy knights work better and so on.

Since I saw that there was already a mod about personnal knighly order I set this society aside at the moment. I'll certainly to it later, but maintaining this mod, the great trade league and the new project I've just started (criminal societies) will be my priorities right now.
An event to make the societies part of a save game that doesn't have them initialized

would be nice addition to have leveled commander traits, what get level by using it something similar to elderkings mod. Society commander traits should be teachable also to non society mebers, but only first level, leveling up should be based on battle experience

Considering that my mod already have 2 separate upgrades for the commander traits, adding anymore would feel cluttered or stack too much power into them (in my opinion).

I mean, this is not a bad suggestion, but it doesn't seem to be worth the effort vs the downsides considering I could be working on brand new stuff (Sufi societies, Thief societies, King's guards society...). Perhaps one day as a side feature to a Orders of Chivalry update alongside other stuff, but not anytime soon.

Would it be possible to make this compatible (moreso than it already is, anyway) with When the World Stopped Making Sense? It already sort of functions (since most vanilla orders are in and unchanged), though there's a boatload more for the new religions (Agonistics, Order of St. Alban, etc.). Or is that bit about adapting to new holy orders in CK2+/HIP flexible enough to account for WTWSMS as well?

Good work, by the by. I was hankering for Christian martial societies after Holy Fury failed to scratch that itch.

Missed your post, sorry for the delay:
I've added HIP/CK2+ holy orders to my mod because I use these mods a lot, if WtWSMS have some of the same holy orders with the same "code name" (list here https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/1458844205/1742216747650235606/ ) they'll work, but I do not really want to start adding every holy orders added by every overhauls, it will never stop.

You can transform any holy order into a society however. Simply right click the Grand Master and you'll get a decision to do it (it only work once tho). So you can always have at least 1 holy order society for your character (assuming he doesn't change his religion).

Im just going to put this on the long list of stuff you got on your plate with this mod. I would like some compatibility with the Mythos 2 mod. Good luck with all your projects! I really enjoy this.

If only it was only this mod! I have my culture mod, 2 other playable societies and working on an unreleased one!

For mythos, using the "Europe with Extra" rule for fighters' guilds will let dragons and werewolves access a fighters guild. For the extra holy orders, the decision on Grand Masters to turn their holy order into a society should do the trick for the time being. I should put a picture of this.

Fair enough, how about I put together a compatibility patch instead? I've been digging through the files and it seems straightforward enough, if a bit laborious.

I had written a big text to help but nevermind that!

If it is a compatibility patch, just rename some of the useless (in WtWSMS) societies (name/ranks/description) in the localization files (not the chivalry_society.txt file) and change their pictures if you want (keep the same file names). You do not even need to add WtWSMS religions, my mod does that all by itself. Add WtWSMS' new traits to the society's power/score if needed.

Not sure if this is possible, but having some way of having your court physician treat infections. I've had some characters die of that really early.
Maal  [developer] Nov 8, 2018 @ 11:53pm
I was expecting the court physicians to threat them like any health issues... I'll look into the code later to see if there is anything about infections.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but I didn't see an event listed such that you can befriend someone in the order. edit: lol and I just got the event, so nvm.

The befriend event is also vanilla and affect all societies.

You know what else this game needs for Holy Orders? I think the Holy Orders like the Templars had a ton of Holdings and property in real life. Like they owned stuff all over the place. But I don't think the game has that.
