Forming the Nordic League base game lets you get cores, so why not in this one? If its a matter of balance then why can Austria form the Austo-Hungarian Empire and Greater Germany?
Also there is a bug with Switzerland conscription, mobilising and de-mobilising gives you permanent manpower, i am using the Skymods version so it could be out of date.
Everything else in the mod is fantastic though, keep up the good work! :D
I always felt that getting cores when forming the Nordic League was somewhat silly, since the people would not just randomly accept you as ruler just because you were also from the area. Otherwise the Kalmar union would never have ended and/or Sweden would still own Norway. So it is intentional.
- Infinite manpower gain is a known bug and is listed as such on the description. It is a base game bug unfortunately involving variables.
It might be an idea, in the advent of Italy choosing Democracy or Monarchy, to sack them and replace them with new generals. Giovanni Messe could be promoted to Field Marshal, reflecting his apolitical nature, along with Prince Amedeo D'Aosta (Skill 3, Brilliant Strategist, Artillery Officer, Charismatic) and Ettore Bastico (Skill 2, Old Guard, Organiser) New generals could be Gabriele Nesci (Skill 2 Mountaineer), Orlando Lorenzini (Skill 3, Desert Fox) and Guglielmo Nasi (Skill 3, Guerilla Fighter).
The main problem wasn't so much that the Italians lacked talented officers, it was that the politicised nature of the army restricted opportunities for men who were not sycophants. More than that, many of their best officers appear to have been sent out to East Africa where they were promptly captured or killed by the British. I understand this is a rather complex and frivolous idea, but I thought I'd just throw it out there.
Fun fact, all fascist generals are labeled as such in the code, and in the case of a civil war will always join the fascists. That said, having new generals spawn while removing some staunch fascist ones is not a bad idea. I’ll keep it in mind.
- My favorite policy was that an officer who joined the Blackshirts went up a rank, ensuring that bafoons who had purposefully not been promoted, got promoted.
