New minor spell suggestions
These are some suggestions of minor spells that could be added in scroll form, for you mages/fighters to study for minor abilities.

Sorcerbees: Summons a small swarm of bees that pollinates plants in the area, increasing the fertility of the area by a minor percentage. If summoned near an enemy, the Sorcerbee Swarm will attack the foe, unfortunately they can only pull off a few attacks before the swarm dies, for despite being conjured, they are still bees.

Conjure Gelatin: A small expenditure of mana produces a serving of Nutrient Paste, unfortunately it tastes just as bad as the stuff produced by a paste dispenser.

Magelight: Reduces the mana cap by 1 per magelight, these lights produce no heat, and produce slightly less light than an ordinary standing lamp.

1) Great ideas, but I want to poke a hole in one of them just to show why it probably wouldn't get in the mod, unfortunately.

The Sorcerbees is a great idea, but there's already a spell called "Fertile Lands" or something. It's a spell for the druid that can only be learned through a scroll.
Combining the two together, alongside normal fertile soil, and you stop caring about growth times. That can result in some really op shenanigans, so it's probably not going in the mod because of another spell within the mod.

Again, I personally think it is a great idea, but this mod needs to keep balance... It should not get rid of important management aspects within the game

2) For future reference, the minor spells are called "cantrips"

Perhaps make the Sorcerbees similar to a Minion, except instead of cleaning and hauling they harvest the plants?

Also, its good to know how to refer to them now, I have been a DM for a long time, and Cantrip would have been my first choice for the term used for minor spells, I just didn't know it Torann referred to it in that way.

Another spell I came up with, this one would work well with Giddy Up! installed. This one would be a Mid-Level spell, requiring the second research in the Scribing tree to create.

Conjure Spectral Steed: A spell that allows a summoner to call fourth a spectral horse. This animal is tireless, needs no food, water, or sleep. While the beast is trained to follow its master, it will not fight, additionally it moves 30% faster than an ordinary horse. It can carry supplies if it is in a caravan, but no more than an ordinary horse would.

This spell can only be learned by the Summoner, Priest, or Paladin class (a D&D reference), and it can only be cast once per person. It cuts the casters mana cap in half until the horse is dismissed, making it a massive nerf to just have it summoned constantly, only really use it for caravans. (Or distant construction work if you use Giddy Up!)

If anyone else is around I would like to hear what you want as cantrips/spell scrolls for your pawns! Even if these don't get implemented I am interested.

I have been plaing a pure druid base, and it quite fun. thou i wish they had someway of dealing with there own brambles. Like a disspel (like how rainmaker works) or a special druid spel that makes them immune to it.

Also i did not see any spell that work the other way around from fertile lands. meaning something like pertify land. making it more and more stonelike. maybe even ad a new resource in this way, petrified wood

Kinda wish they had a spell that animates a tree. I love ents.

for a none druid sugestion, i miss the clasical love spell. Its great for drama, cause the caster is not in love but his or her subject wil be head overheals. unless you give the spell to everyone and put it on auto cast. then its just a love cult.

Magic dual, it a counterpart of mentoring, but can be done with a bad relation thou pawn do can get hurt with it like in a social fight. but unlike social figthing they gaine some mutual respect for eachothers arcane powers after the dual.

Magic Duel seconded heavily, instead of making it into an ability like mentoring maybe create an addon or something that adds the Duel Arena, and make magic duels into a way for your pawns to gain recreation.

Every once in a while your magic pawns decide to duel, and they head for your duel arena. Then have a few places set up for chairs, places for pawns to sit and watch the duel.

The winner of the duel could get a mood buff, while the loser could get a debuff of varying intensity (Depending on how much they dislike the person they fought) either way they both get a relationship boost called "Mutual Respect"

Everyone who watched the duel could get a small boost or a large boost in mood, depending on how evenly matched the duelists were. (A wrestling match where one guy is taken down in the first three seconds is still entertaining, but leaves the audience wanting for more carnage.)

You could have two different arenas, one built cheaply, a simple arena made with simple materials. Any pawns that duel within it have a higher chance of taking damage. And one built from gold, jade, stone, and magicite. Which is warded with safety wards, making the duelists take less physical trauma from the duel.

Althou i love the idea of a group event, i can see them getting very anoying. Same as with the royalty speeches, if one of them is limping the whole colony is going to just wait ages for them to come stroling in. I rather would like it as a party or like a social fight, just between 2 pawns.

The audience would not all need to be present. Just like how in Rim of Madness the only worshipper that NEEDS to be present is the preacher.
In the Two arenas the cheap would allow audience injury and duelist injury and in the expensive only mild injuries to duelist unless the duelist disliked each other then they can do real damage but if the are bitter rivals at like -75 down then there is a life threatening repairable injuries are guaranteed and death is unlikely but not impossible there would need to be a way to achieve combatants or at least band pawns to prevent this.

give the hybrid class option coming out a combat casting passive would be nice
let mages cast spells while engaged in melee without being interrupted or something
Vide Noir Jun 10, 2020 @ 9:24am
give necromancers the ability to life steal from a group of enemies to heal allies and themselves.. like. Transfering minor wounds to the enemy pawns from nearby allies and caster

got the idea from realm of the mad god and it would be great imo

In response to lucas' magic duel inclusion, maybe this could be a fighter skill or a magic fighter class skill that forces another pawn to be the only one able to damage the pawn that used it, giving a way to isolate really dangerous enemies during raids or attacks.
