Boxloader quick start guide
Thank you for trying out Boxloader. Some people have been having trouble understanding how this mod works, so I'd like to give a few examples on how to use it.

First: not every vehicle is supported. Most vanilla arma vehicles are not configured for Vehicle in Vehicle transporting. In fact, only three are. A few of them have support added in this mod, but not all of them.

Most every ammo box object in Arma 3 is theoretically capable of being loaded. Some are quite large, and might not fit in all vehicles. Some vehicles have weight limits. Experimentation is key.

Loading Vehicles

For vehicles that have built-in Vehicle in Vehicle support, where you can usually already drive up a vehicle and choose "Load vehicle", loading with Boxloader is fairly straight forward.
Aim at the vehicle, choose "Select loading target" from the action menu, look at the cargo in question, and choose "Load this in target". ( or "Load pallet in target")
This will work with both ammo boxes and vehicles that fit.
If the cargo is physically visible, you may aim at it and choose "Unload object", otherwise use the driver's "Unload objects" or "Unload all vehicles" action.

It may be difficult to find the right spot to get the loading action, as it's cursorTarget based and quite finicky. You also must be fairly close to both the object and the vehicle.

For vehicles with retrofitted "cargo rack" support, there will be an action for each loadable area. They are often named "Select cargo bed" or such. Function is otherwise the same. The exception is when the loadable area is already an infantry transporting space, like the back of a truck you can sit in.

These will have an action such as "Use rear cargo bed", which disables the seats and enables cargo loading. The vehicle seats in question must be empty for this to be possible.
To return to infantry transport mode, choose the other option that appears, such as "Use rear cargo seats". The cargo area must be fully unloaded for this to work.

A currently unique example is the Van added in the Laws of War DLC. It has an optional roof rack that can be hidden and shown in the editor(and in zeus with mods like achilles). In boxloader, if the roof rack is added, the IDAP van can carry cargo there as well. Combine it with the cargo van variant for more capacity.

Pallets

An extra feature of Boxloader is cargo pallets and other storage objects. They are located under "Supplies > Boxloader" in the editor and zeus. Pallets have Vehicle in Vehicle space integrated, and as a result can be used to carry items. Pallets also have different loading/unloading action names, to help with loading full pallets into vehicles.

Many vehicles are configured to load cargo down the center of their available space from front to back. While they may be able to fit, say, two boxes side by side, they will try to fit them in the center, wasting available space. Putting multiple items on one pallet can allow for better utilization of space, and easier organization: parachuting a single pallet vs several ammocans!

There are several sizes of real life pallets included in Boxloader. The square "drum pallet", rectangular US-style pallets, and also European EUR-1 pallets, even the 463L master pallet designed for large cargo aircraft. Different sizes fit different vehicles, and different loads.

The vanilla Arma 3 pallet-style loads like Cargo Net box are larger than most real life pallets, and might not fit small vehicles. A US pallet with box is included as a more easily transported load, that may be loaded with items or ACE logistics cargo.

All pallets are sling loadable, but depending on their cargo may be too heavy for some aircraft.

Examples

The offroad can fit the square boxloader pallet, small(ammo/grenades/support) Arma ammoboxes, the Basic Weapons box, FIA equipment/ammo/weapon caches, but not the Launchers or Special Weapons boxes.
The flatbed truck is wider and can fit the Launchers boxes, Arma 3 big square pallet objects, as well as quad bikes.

The HEMTT and Zamak trucks can fit multiple quad bikes, pallets, and sizable ammo boxes, and even a single 463L master pallet. The HEMTT can fit an assault boat.

The blackfish can fit the most kinds of ammoboxes, even several 463L pallets, which themselves can fit large numbers of ammo boxes.

The Xi'an can fit large Arma 3 style pallet objects, but can't fit 463L pallets.

4 flexible fuel tanks fit on one square pallet.

The IDAP Van's roof rack can hold 3 square pallets, but only 7 fuel tanks with them.

The pickup can carry a literal ton of cargo, but doesn't have much room to fit several large objects.

The quad bike's front rack can fit a single ACE medical box, or a Syndikat launchers box, but not the rear.

The best way to see if a vehicle can load something is to try it for yourself. Place it in the editor, or better yet, place a unit in the editor, and a Zeus Game Master module(set to all addons), and you can test combinations to your heart's desire.

Excellent concept. Works beautifully for the supported vehicles. Can't to see it more vehicles supported!

can you make a video on it
I'm part of an artillery unit and we are trying to load artillery guns from RHSUSAF onto a US Flatbed truck is there anyway to do that?

Hey, how do you fill HESCO barriers? And also how do you use the portable structures?

The system is really clunky right now, you need to put the "Boxloader Roof Rack Box" near a vehicle that can mount a bucket and mount it, deploy it, and drive it near them. The vanilla bulldozer APC can also do it. I'm not on good internet right now but I'm trying to think of some kind of transportable cargo that would conceptually equal "building stuff".

I added VIVclass vehicleTransport data to an aircraft that I enjoy flying, Saber's Piper Super Cub, via a config patch. I can set the aircraft to start loading, but I can not get anything to load into the aircraft. What else do I need to do to get this to load up boxes and small items into the aircraft?

Does the aircraft itself have the memory points for the transport area? If it doesn't, it won't work. I attach invisible vehicles to get around this, but they cause aircraft to explode easily.

Gotcha. I thought I'd work around the problem by simply entering in the coordinates in model space, vs editing the model or using attachTo. OK, good to know. Thanks man.

How do I move master pallets around?

Can we load pallets into Van and Van's roof rack? Cz im trying and cant find out how. Did we need a forklift for it?
