Removing points - somehow possible?
TL;DR

Got the Vampire melee skill up to level 4 (explosion attack procc) - makes my dwarv vampire drop her Walking axe everytime it proccs so i'd love to get rid of it since it renders her pretty much useless in what she did before an is supposed to do. Removing the perks Hediff doesnt work.

Okay i'm running a pretty heavily modded game - right of the bat i got my hands on a vampire that also happens to be a werewolf(never actually seen him become one nor do i have any way to trigger it without becomming hostile like some of the caravans do but thats part of another mod so i'll stop the complaining :D)

He's from the Nosferatu Bloodline 11th Gen -Since he's a brawler and is pretty good in Mining and crafting i went for the Skill line that gives me melee and manipulation bonis - it was going just great - Dana is(was) my allmighty gate guardian at the end of the killzone maze. The vampire absorption stacked on top with a dwarven shield + a Dwarven walking axe enabled her to cut through enemy limbs while taking almost no damage whatsoever untill i finally made it to Rank 4 of the ability - I didn't know about the Bonus effect (80% chance to trigger an explosion on hit which doesnt seem to damage Herself,allies or closeby buildings pretty neat actually) the problem is since i got that WHENEVER the explosion triggers Dana drops her Walking axe and just keeps slamming the enemy with her shield - which is fine to since the attack rate is way faster so the explosion triggers more but it extremely low damage somehow.

Is there any way to remove skill points? I tried removing the Hediff of the 4th rank but it just comes back after a second so no luck with that.

Oh and before you tell me i shouldn't complain - I'm playing on extreme in the jungle which is already hard enough but on top of that the storyteller is going completly berserk when it comes to spawns of Dark youngs, Deep ones , Starvampires and the likes

This was one real time hour worth of spawns..^^

what you could do is remove vampirism in the vampire section in dev mode, and then give exp back (same section) so you get back to the original level. then you can respec. not sure if it works for the same bloodline, but it works for changing between.

I can confirm it does not work for the same bloodline as far as I can see. The perk (potence 4) in my case returns. If anyone has a fix that would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: The perks seem to return even when switching bloodlines, what am I doing wrong? Even if I remove vampirism entirely they return.

So, even though this post is YEAR's old at this point... I also have various issues wit this feature and simply prefer it off.. This is how you do it.

This example is for version 1.3. as seen in the path below. There are however 3 other versions... 4 files in total named "ROMV_Potence.xml" ... I simply open and change them all.

"steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1187010034\1.3\Defs\AbilityDefs\ROMV_Potence.xml"

```
<li Class="JecsTools.HediffCompProperties_Knockback">
<knockbackChance>0.0</knockbackChance>
<stunChance>0.2</stunChance>
<stunTicks>60</stunTicks>
<knockDistance>
<min>2</min>
<max>3</max>
</knockDistance>
<explosiveKnockback>false</explosiveKnockback>
<explosionDmg>Stun</explosionDmg>
</li>
```
