Vampire caravans dying
Whenever I get a visitor caravan and some are vampires, they always die. They never seek darkness, they just stand in the sun open until they die, and their faction kills them. And I can't control them either because they are not mine. What can I do to stop them dying?

as soon a caravan enters and its daylight, the vampire just stop and die and caravan kills them. he dont even have time to go to the visitor area before he dies. (indoors)

What I recommend is building multiple small refugee areas near incoming borders with roofs as well as putting down "trader spot" this is the only actual fix I've been able to do in regards to this issue. as they have roughly 30-45 tiles depending on traits before they go down from sunlight issues.

You might have some sort of mod conflict. They are supposed to be able to dig themselves an emergency hole in any diggable terrain. The emergency shelter that was suggested is a great idea as well.

what kind of mods conflict with that?
I still see NPC vampires digging down in my town sometimes. But Vampire Caravans still die.

1.: get the trading spot mod
2.: get the character editor mod
3.: get the beveled walls mod for a better looking step 4
4.: place 4 (beveled) wooden wall pieces, like pillars
5.: add lights & roof to the walls
6.: put trading spot in there
7.: teleport dying vamps in there before they go frenzy due to sunburn, which is what triggers their mates to shoot em (cuz they'd kill the entire caravan if not)

PS: i remember having had this problem very well and idk what causes it; i've seen the intentional action happening many times too and that's "dig a hole into the ground and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hide there" - maybe yours arrive on non-diggable tiles?
