XCOM 2
A Better ADVENT: War of the Chosen
New ability for Advent troops (idea)
"They are well equipped", he said. And yet, their magnetic and plasma weapons are weaker than xcom conventional gear...
I propose to add all Advent soldiers an analog of the Channeling Fielding ability. The difference in ability is that there is no infinite increase in damage (3 maximum). This ability will immediately explain the effectiveness of armor and weapons and will not make significant changes in the balance (damage will increase to 4-6, which will not have a serious effect). I ask to forgive my bad English.
It would be nice to add this effect for any damage taken (including grenades or flamethrowers).
If you can - make it a separate perk (addon) with the choice of who should give it.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "Channeling Fielding".

Field Every time you are targeted, part of the energy is channeled into your heavy autocannon. This energy is unleashed with your next Standard Shot.

At any receipt of damage from a grenade or flamethrower or something else - the damage of the main weapon should increase. *

Notes: Each point of energy channeled by Channeling Field increases the damage of the primary weapon attack by 1. The energy stored by Channeling Field is expended even if the next shot misses.

Ah, now i know what you are talking about. I don't really use Sparks, so i don't remember all their abilities all the time.

Interesting suggestion, i could see using something like that on one of the mechanical enemies like the MEC or Sectopod. Maybe even the Advent Drone, once i bring it back.

I gave this ability to all the soldiers of Advent. After that, the balance changes little. Before you increase the squad. Because I would like to make a limit on the increase in damage. This ability gave an answer why the soldier's armor of the future is weaker than the Kevlar armor (peacekeeper) and the gauss are weaker than conventional weapons.

I will say more. I added this ability to the Advent from the ABA (Stunlanser, Shield Bearer, Commissioner), but this changed only their main weapon (which in principle is also not bad). The balance changed little (becoming more difficult).

What I would not advise doing is adding this ability to the drone. This is bad.

Are you gonna add acid/poison versions of the Purifier, if at least for variety's sake?
DerBK  [developer] Sep 12, 2017 @ 11:53pm
I'll not do it just for varieties sake. But i do want to look into variations of the Priest and the Purifier that actually change something relevant. Nothing concrete yet while i am still catching up with what i still nerd to move over, but i do want to experiment with a toned down version of Remote Start for Purifiers and with a medic version of the Priest.

Didn't we already have that with the Shieldbearers that carried Gremlins around? Plus, I don't think it matches with the Purifiers. If you really want them to blow stuff up, how about a version that focuses on nothing but explosives, a unit that draws in the Lost for the regular Purifiers to clean up. Their equipment would also almost guarantee cover to be destroyed, and explosions will be caused around vehicles.

From my experience LW2 Drone scatter behaviour itself is excellent at revealing concealed allies, but what do you think about addition of another Drone variant that casts All Seeing (reveal concealed units within their line of sight) immediately upon reveal? It would be more effective at countering Reapers, which can be very powerful if her stealth mechanic is utilized to maximum.

For example, if you give this variant of Recon Drone more health - but reduced damage or no ability to stun in trade off for ability to cast All Seeing - player will need to decide if they want to invest their precious alpha strike damage on this Drone in order to maintain/guarantee Reaper stealth.

Just an idea I wanted to throw at you since Drones are not yet implemented in the mod.

It is very stupid to see that all Adventist soldiers are hybrids (especially in the role of police or army). It would be logical that, at least for the sake of appearances, some Advent soldiers should be human. Are they converted into hybrids at once when recruiting? This is illogical. It is better to add, in addition to the MOCX initiative, the "unascended" Advent soldiers.

There is an idea to add in addition to MOCX soldiers regular army, which are identical rookie xcom (panic, have the same weapons and statistics), but possess the medkit, smoke grenade and use PCSes and modular weapons. They have their own captains (Squaddie). Captains should look like combine (half-life). They start at the same level as the advent and can be reinforcements. Sorry for my bad english.
