Slow down era progression?
Heya folks. Would anyone happen to know how to slow down the rate at which the progressive galactic conquest progresses?
I remember previous versions of the mod taking 60-100 weeks or so to advance to the next era (without killing the Imperial leaders). In more recent versions, the eras seem to progress every 30 cycles or so.

If i were to edit the files, would it be xml or lua?

Eras aren't important anymore.
Tech progression is now year based instead of era based.
The only thing the era does nowadays is setting your starting setting

That should be definied in the script folder
Probably named year handler or something like that

Thanks so much. Played about with it but nothing seems to have changed. I saw on 'Game constants LUA' it said "Year_Cycles = 12". I changed that numbed but nothing happened. Must be some more coding somewhere lol

Hi folks! Bringing this one back up to see if anyone has any suggestions on where the era settings might be? Love the mod and I play it on the cruel AI difficulty, with the expanded map sub-mod, so I'd love to be able to slow down the passage of years and extend each era a bit, so as to delay the introduction of new ship types and story events.

I've hunted around in the scripts folders and also tried the "Year_cycles" setting mentioned above, but no luck on either one. Any pointers towards the right line to tweak would be appreciated. :)

if you ever do figure it out please let me know. I've wanted the same thing, as it feels a bit rushed for large scale long term games. Doubling it, so each year is 24 cycles, would be about right imo
I've found a solution:

In: [Steam Install Location]\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\32470\1125571106\Data\Scripts\Library\eawx-plugins\year-handler

Find: YearHandler.lua

On Line 17, change self.cycles_per_month = 1 to self.cycles_per_month = x where x is your desired months per cycle. I can confirm it works with self.cycles_per_month = 3, making it 3 cycles per month. I also set the file to read-only, unsure if that effected whether the change was confirmed. I also started a new game so can't confirm it will work with saves, but I imagine it would since it's a script file change and not a campaign setup file.
