STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

EaWX: Thrawn's Revenge 3.4 (Updated April 2nd)
Imperial Capital Ships
I don't know if anyone asked this before, if so pls redirect me there, but why Shield Generator hardpoints were removed from Imperial ships? The entire Alliance/New Republic space battle strategy is build around "softening" Star Destroyers by taking out Shield Generators and main weapons placements so weaker cruisers can destroy them faster and take less damage. It also makes starfighter squadrons less valuable and general New Republic starfighter superiority negligible if not outright canceled.

PS I also hand question earlier about methods raising planetary influence on large ammounts of planets but didn't get an answer.

The Shield Generator Hardpoints were taken off a update or 2 ago, it was just way to easy and made the Battles tougher. No damage gets through until you take down a Ships Shield with Ion Cannon's or Missile's. Star fighter squadrons are still powerful and the A.I. will spam them en mass as the NR.

If you start a Galactic Conquest or Historical Battle then you can just click on the ? or the button next to it on the in game interface & it'll breakdown what raises Influence or Drops it etc
But putting up a Senate or Moff Palace will bring it up, adding a Trade Station will bring it up, a Company Building like Rendelli on Sluis Van or Kuat something on Kuat (U can put them on other planets but forgot which) will bring up Influence, Building a Super Oto, Valdussia or Empress Space Station brings it up & not getting attacked for a few weeks also bring's it up.

It was not done to make battles tougher, it was made to make shields and shielf regen actuyally matter. If you keep concentrating on one ship, then it's not any tougher, but it allows you to try to bring ships out of battle and get them regened a bit, otherwise there's no point to kiting. There's also no connection between shield generators being a hardpoint and fighter strength, it's not like shield penetration was a thing before either. With shield gens as a hardpoint, shields just go down once and the fact that they *could* otherwise regen is pointless because it's always the first thing to go down.

Those things are limites in numbers, 5 battle stations and 15 trade stations, how do i raise influence on regular planets like Tatooine, because on later eras you have about a 100 planets and want to change leader.

The influence guide in-game explains how to do it, but you basically just need to build up the planet. Pop down a trade station, Validusia/Empress and try to make sure it doesn't get attacked lol. Moving your faction capital to it is the only way to raise a planet to influence 10 as far as I know (maybe the NR can do it with Leia's influence bonus?)
Just building ♥♥♥♥ on planets doesn't seem to work, only trade stations and Empress stations work and Capital. I have 100 planets, there is a limit to trade stations(15) and Empress(5), what the hell am i supposed to do for at least 30 more? The ONLY chanse to change NR leader is early at era 1, but once you expand to the Core you have too many planets

We're aware it's difficult to get influence as you grow, and we are adding more mechanisms that impact influence (both positive and negative). The system is only in its first stages of iteration right now, it takes take to flesh out systems like that where we have to implement them from scratch because EaW wasn't designed with them in mind.
If your wondering about influence a few great ways to gain influence is to
1. Have tax collection agencies or mines on a planet
2. Buying a corporation on a world also will increase influence
3. Putting your capital on a world will greatly increase your influence
4. Not getting attacked will help prevent you losing influence
5. Also having defense stations will somewhat increase your influence on a planet
6. And lastly your influence will slowly increase as the weeks go by on the Galactic map the longer you control a planet the more influence you will have.

Right now influence doesn't do too much but if you have high influence on certain worlds you will get different rewards like if you have high influence on Mandalore you'll get a chance to get some free Kedelbe Battleships,On Carida you'll be able to get some generic fleet admirals and ground commanders but later on Corey has spoken on adding things like having the loyalty of the civilian population be determined by your influence levels and if you have really low influence on a planet they can rebel in the future.
