eriadu authority too powerful?
ive been doing more playthroughs in the game, and ive seen the eriadu authority literally stomp on the new republic and surrounding factions, in my pentantstar alighment playthrough, the only powerful factions still standing are the pentanstar alignment (me), the greater maldrood and the eriadu authority, the imperial remnant, new republic and chiss ascendancy and zinjis empire are virtually gone, (i took out the chiss, while the imperial remnant was destroyed by the eriadu authority and zinjis empire, the latter was virtually split in half by me and the greater maldrood, while the new republic is barely holding onto 2 world next to each other) the eriadu authority also firmly controls almost the entire south half of the map, im starting to believe that the eriadu are over powered, and believe that steps should be taken for the new republic to have a chance (yes even the ai) to defeat the eriadu authority, like giving some planets of the authority to the republic, or giving the republic more ships and the authority fewer ships at the start of each campaign, i think that if this steps are taken, players who prefer the new republic will enjoy playing the republic more at the start of a galactic conquest.

The New Republic starts with significantly more forces than the Eriadu Authority does already in most scenarios, the reason the AI ends up losing to the EA AI is mostly because the NR is a bit more spread out, which is harder for the AI to deal with than players, against the EA's more concentrated forces. Also, since every battle between AI is autoresolved, the NR AI is held back by the fact that carriers, which make up a lot of the NR's early forces, don't currently have their fighter complements taken into account during autoresolve because we have to develop some other systems to deal with that, since we changed how fighter spawns work. Once thosew are in, we'll see how the AI is performing, and if we need to make more changes we will, but under actual players, the NR's start is much better than what the AI autoresolve results would have you believe.

your mostly right, i did a new republic playthrough last night and i do win in space battles against the eriadu authority, but during the land battles, i lose almost all my forces and since i have more starting forces than the galactic unit limit allows, i cant make more land units, the only way i managed to succesfully take all of the planets of the authority was by auto resolving land battles.

in my campaign the eriadu athority destroyed the empire in almost 40 weeks

I reckon it is more of the fact that the Eriadu Authority AI in your game is being very expansionist and aggressive. Usually throughout my playthroughs I have found that there is always at least 1 of these AI.I am using the Pentastar Alignment aswell and right now Warlord Zsinj is the aggressive one.
They are pretty easy. They were the first I wiped out. Barely putting up a fight

is it because new republic capital ships are garbage

actually the nrs ships are actually very good to use, i played the new republic a couple of minutes after my discussion here got a response and the nrs ships are very powerful, while they might have trouble dealing with the empire of the hand early game, they will defintely punch through star destroyers and i even took out ysanne isards super star destroyer with a fleet of republic capital ships, so i dont think they are garbage and are actually very good, and i completly annihlated the eriadu authority with the starting ships.

but, even though the space ships are very good at the start, its the land units that my attention is on about the nr, since at the start the factions units exceed their availiable number of units, if i lose all my land units, i cant build them back since my faction still exceeds or meets the available amount of units the nr can have. meaning i cant take planets. i only manage to take the eriadu authority's planets by auto resolving land battles.
