NR elections not working? Stuck with Mon Mothma.

So Ive been playing a NR game and even though I select a different leader I always get Mon Mothma. I even did it at most planets I own just to be sure but I still get Mothma. Was wondering if I was missing something or is it bugged?

You don't automatically win elections. Every planet you have at 5 influence or higher counts as a vote for your candidate, and every planet at 4 influence or lower counts as a vote against your candidate.

but in the later game when you have 60 planets+ how can you change the leader? There a just to few ways/structures to push influence... maybe increase the cap for those structures oder add new ones which push the the influence
