More of a question:
If I want Gas Giant Compression to always produce Huge planets, should I set it to
GAS_GIANT_COMPRESSION_LARGE_CHANCE: 0
Or should I follow an older post and set it to -1?

I ended up with a pop 0 planet with no cells available on a gas giant and I'd had that variable set to -1. Am trying to set it to 0 to see what happens. Didn't see anything mentioning that variable specifically, at least. Using UCP and the 5X mod w/the compatibility patch.

With 5.9, it was a bug, that should be fixed with 6.0.

But it requires a new game to correct. If it is still occurring with a fresh 6.0, please post a save of the game right before the worker completes the compression task.

Okay, that might take awhile. Tried to load my autosave (unfortunately *after* the problem happened) and suddenly I couldn't really access anything and lots of things were messed up. Going to have to start from scratch.

Should the variable still be set to -1 for no large worlds from gas giants?

Do not use 6.0 at the moment, this is a confirmed bug - researching cause and fix

I'm using 6.0 and I deleted my save to start a new game. Going to try setting the GAS_GIANT_COMPRESSION_LARGE_CHANCE variable to 0 and see what happens, or should I keep it at -1 to get a confirmation of the bug?

I tend to play really huge maps, but I guess I can try a small cluster or similar map to do it a lot quicker. I'll start a small game now and see what happens.

Don't have it yet, but to warn you: I made some tweaks to the mod and 5X. I use default leaders (flagged that option to 0) in Global, and I altered 5X's Antaran Doom Star blueprint to use a wide area jammer instead of the subspace teleporter.

.......okay. I just played a smaller game with normal research speed and 4 small clusters, got to the tech where I could have advanced colony ships and gas giant compression. Made a save before it completed, a save on the turn it completed but before I colonized and one after I colonized it and... it was normal?!

I put all three files in a folder on my Google Drive. Maybe one of them will have some useful information despite it not replicating the error. Hopefully my link works for others. I set it to be sharable (or tried to) but tell me if there are errors and I'll try again.

i got a save as elerian where it happens on the next turn.
the gas giant im compressing in my home system ends up with 0 population maximum

i just noticed there seems to be an error with the size of the planet
the size before compressing is giant and compressing should change it to huge or large, but it remains giant

I have already asked this topic at Spuds 5X comments, so let me apologize in advance for repeating my question.

I was wondering if it is possible to give the augmented engines a travelspeedMultiplier, instead of a flat travelspeedBonus. according to spud that issue belongs to the code, not the YAML files. if this tweak is possible, do you want to consider to intergrate this in a future UCP patch?

I ask this cuz I would really like the idea to nerf the engines early game, and buff them late game, giving the engines more purpose and tactical travel late game.

@AgeOfTheWolf: Yeah one the data checks is wrong, it is reading a wrong value, which is correct like 95% of the time. I have fixed it still testing it a bit.

OR at least I think I fixed it - kind of hard to say

6.0a is released - I would suggest upgrading if using 6.0.

I made an attempt to correct games in progress, but that is best effort.
