Description
Everything you will ever need to know about your ship and station displayed in real time on LCD panels in any vanilla games. modded games and servers! Now with cockpit panels support!

Thank all of you for making amazing creations with this script, using it and helping each other use it. Its 2024 - it's been 9 years already since I uploaded first Configurable Automatic LCDs script and you are all still using it (in "a bit" upgraded form). Its just amazing :)

Every captain wants to have displays that show some useful info. Make your bridge display damaged blocks in engineering, engine room, etc. Make big screen by joining multiple Wide LCDs! Show power output, batteries status, laser antenna connections and much more. Make your docking bay display which landing gears are occupied. Make screens for docking fighers when landing gear is ready to dock so they can nicely see it from cockpit! Make one LCD per container to see its contents.. and much more!

HOW TO UPDATE?
This script is not a mod so it does not update by itself. You need to load new version of script to your programmable block to overwrite the old one. You do that in exactly the same way as when you first loaded the script into programmable block.
Open your programmable block, click Edit, click Browse Workshop, select Automatic LCDs 2, click OK, Check code, Remember & Exit. Done. Your script is now updated.

!! PLEASE READ THIS !!
I'm really happy that this script became so popular and that so many people like it, but many people means many questions and I rather enjoy other things than saying the same things all over again to people. So I wrote the guide where I've put everything about every command, tried to answer all questions that people had in comments and I keep it updated. I'm responding to many comments that are stated in the guide. Please read the guide.

If you've got questions, but you don't want to read the guide, then this script is probably not for you.

I understand that this script got quite a lot of features and it can be hard to crunch whole guide. Unfortunately I can't teach everyone how to use it via chat. It took me several hundreds of hours to put this all together so please take your time to read the guide and follow the troubleshooting section if something doesn't work.

If you have problem with some command then read the guide section for that command and make sure you use it correctly. Try to use it on separate LCD by itself so it's easier for you to see the issue and definitely try some examples!

You are the space engineers so go ahead and play with it and figure it out :)

@CrankyOldMan: this is not a mod, it's a script so it will appear in the scripts list when you will open a programmable block properties If you have of course enabled in-game scripts in the world settings :se:

I'm having issues as well. I'm subbed on the workshop, but it doesn't appear in my mod list when I start a new game. Version update maybe?

@Nolabritt I see. Weird. I've never heard of such issue. It sounds like locally modified script. I have tested it on completely fresh profile with no local data and the script that is downloaded from workshop has correct size with no extra whitespaces.

More specifically, I am subbed on the workshop and when I select it via "browse scripts" and I "copy to editor", the script copies as 143400/100000 characters in the programmable block editor. I have been using this script for years with no problem, this is very recent which means it may be due to other mods. I am able to pull old copies of the script from blueprints, and they have a proper 96637/100000 count. Comparing each in VS, the new copy is the same as the old except it has all standard formatting white space. The old script lacks all white space after the intro. Others would have run into this issue if it was a problem on your end, but the issue persists even if I start a new unmodded game... it may be a result of me messing with my game files on my end or something. I have copies of the script so I am not hurting, but if others bring this up then remember this data point

The script fits into programmable block character limits using standard way of subscribing to it and loading it into programmable block from list of in-game scripts using in-game interface.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'pulling script from the workshop' but if you mean downloading the script outside of game and then copy pasting it into the game then that is definitely not supported.

For some reason when I copy the script from the workshop, it is too long for the character limit. It looks like the code was formatted somehow and a lot of white space was added which pushed the code over the character limit. Has anyone had this problem when pulling script from the workshop?

Can you add a link to a list of JUST the commands? I hate digging through all this every time I come back to the game, I've even made a list of my own somewhere and lost it! seams like it would be the very first thing. Like in a guitar tutorial they just tell you the chords and play it once through for those who aren't total beginners to just get back to playing.
