DAC #1: Distance Galaxy

Description
Get familiar with the game as you traverse the Planets.
Just be warned, the difficulty increases as the level progresses, and the end can be quite challenging.

This track was built for the 2016 Distance Advent Calender.

This did not age well.

8/10 for creativity. 0/10 for jump pads.
Progression based on trial & error / luck is not fun. Also the long tube at the end didn't make sense until I did some blind platforming and magically got to the end somehow.

Please for the love of god use portals next time. The launch pads are a cool effect but only seem to work 1/100 times. Most times you get launched into the grid other times you just get insta-killed

Way too long and full of trial and error bullshit. Not fun at all.

The gates between worlds seem to be bugged as of the last update. Before, it worked fine, but now, it wont launch the car at all.

I thinking about editing the map and keep it for myself. Inserting portals. I really love the map but with the jump pads takes 30mins to complete.

Interesting. Well,I'm quite glad a new version of the track will be coming soon that'll fix the jump pad issues. And hopefully make the ending a little easier to figure out? *winkwink*

The main reason I used the jump pads was to completely avoid using portals at all. As it stands I'm sitting on a new version in the experimental build which uses gravity zones instead, making the track much more reliable.
As for the zero gravity at a incorrect checkpoint, that's a bug with checkpoints where they use the gravity setting from the first trigger since the last checkpoint instead of the last trigger. There are ways to get around this, but this track was built before I knew of the details of bug.

Also, there was one weird issue I had where when I respawned in te lava planet, it put me in the grav trigger stated of betwene planets. As in; zero grav and very low drag making it damn near impossible to get anywhere. Lost multiple minutes of my run to that...
