Patch 17+ Data Typos

In 1 collection by Bruce_R
BruceR's current TW:R2 mod set
10 items
Description
Originally intended for patch 17 R2TW, this has now been updated so that only the typos not corrected by Empire Divided patches remain. Overall, over 75% of the original mod was incorporated in Empire Divided. Works with Desert Kingdoms expansion.

UPDATE, Mar 2018: bug fixes that were fixed by CA in their March 8 patch, including the serious ED issue above, have been removed. Some data typos found by Octavius added... see change notes.

Summary of remaining changes, and what's been fixed, follows:

Remaining changes still made by installing this patch:
D2. Principle: Weights on unit cards should reflect the actual unit mass. Change: Units with different card weights than what the speed/mass of that unit actually is have been adjusted. Note: no actual change to performance involved, just correcting typos on the unit card/description. 6 lines changed. From BruceR, L. Romanista (5 WoS and Thracian Cav not changed in Empire Divided)

E7. Principle: Elite versions of units shouldn't have as good or better stats as the original unit without reason. Change: Roman First and Eagle Cohorts mass and charge increased to legionary values. Bonus HP reduced by 5 to offset the mass-based HP gain. 2 lines changed, +4 lines in main units to update unit card weights. From BruceR

G2. Principle: Garrisons should not be a different # of units other similar factions have for the same building, without good reason. Change: Replacing Spear Brothers with Bloodsworn (Suebi) in Artisan building line garrisons prevents double-sized garrisons for Nervii. 1 line changed. From BruceR
G4. Principle: Garrisons should not be a different # of units other similar factions have for the same building, without good reason. Change: Extra heavy infantry (Sword Follower unit) removed from Boii city/town garrisons. Elite Persian Foot Archers removed from Parthian city/town garrisons. 2 lines removed. From BruceR
G5. Principle: Buildings should not get less effective as you increase their level. Change: Roman Naval Port (Emperor campaign) level 4 Bireme garrison ships changed to Quadremes. 1 line changed. From L. Romanista
G6. Principle: Buildings should not get less effective when you increase their level. Change: Armenian Heavy Horse Studs (L2 stable) typo removing 2x Persian Cavalry garrison corrected. 1 line changed. From Areus
(May be fixed, maybe not... appears to have added new garrrison units without removing older ones)

H1. Principle: Units should be able to play their campaign units in custom battles. Change: Added--Colchis Assault Tetreres, Ardiaei Assault Dieres, Arevaci Assault Raider, Lusitani Assault Raider, Cimmerian Penteres with variants. Changed--2 Parthian missile vessels, assault hexeres changed to campaign game vessels. 8 lines added, 3 lines changed. From BruceR

Note: I want to say once again that I'm very happy that CA found so many of the same things that the crowdsourced mods have found, and I don't want anything associated with this mod to be seen in any other way, other than to continue to improve this game for everyone in as objective a manner as possible.

Has the Ancestral Update made this mod obsolete or will the be a Patch 20 Data Typos coming in the near future? Keep up the good work gentlemen!

Another one is that Thureos and Thorax Hoplites actually have "hoplite" shields instead of "thureos" despite being named and depicted with them:

One I found is that they changed Iberian Swordsmen to have range 40 rome_iron_javelin, but didn't update the Mercenary Iberian Swordsmen in the same way, so they still have the range 80 javelins: https://www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/units_compare.php?l=en&v []=rome2&f[]=rom_lusitani&u[]=Ibe_Sword&v[]=rome2&f[]=&u[]=Mer_Ibe_Sword

Hi mate, unfortunately typos never end:

In Caesar in Gaul level 4 allows you to recruit Roman Onagers...I think should be Artillery Quinquereme - R. O. that otherwise could not be recruited (https://www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/unit.php?l=en&v=rome2&f=gaul_rome&u=CiG_Rom_Onager_Five)

Thanks to everyone who contributed: Vilmurin, Octavius, Dux, L. Romanista, Vulcanis, Areus, and Reveur. I'll keep the patch up for posterity, even though it's changing relatively little now. But who knows, more data typos could always show up, too. Good gaming, all.

Well done Bruce_R! This was almost certainly a foundation and motivation for CA's update.
