Illusions

Omschrijving
Welcome to Illusions, a world where nothing is like anything you've ever seen. Beware, only some roads can be trusted, and there are many obstacles to be avoided. Remeber: "Don't trust blue"!

Inspired by the holo-buildings past the end of Destination Unknown, there are no visible physical objects in the main track. Every piece of track, every building, every obstacle, is semi-transparent.

This track is directly based on Nitronic Rush's Hardcore mode rules, so there are no wings enabled, and there are numerous wall jumps. The track difficultly is hard to very hard (ranked in-game as "Expert"), but most people who've played through NR's Hardcore mode and some Hardcore Community levels a few times shouldn't have a problem with it.

This track was released as part of the 2014 Distance Advent Calendar Event.

Note: Since this type of track cannot use road splines, it takes a very long time to create. It's been several months since I started this track, and I've just now gotten it to a point where I'm mostly happy with it. As such, I don't plan to make another one in this style unless it gets amazing feedback...

Or maybe if I feel like making a shorter one in a similar style at some point. Maybe a Challenge level? (Don't count on it, though)

I'd definitely like to do a Nitronic-style level at some point! Haven't had much spare time or level layout ideas recently, though... :(

Really cool concept. I'd like to see a Nitronic-themed one with flashier colors. And thanks for letting others use this as a base.

@Lord Rump, "unfair romhack"? Could you clarify? If there's something that needs to be adjusted or fixed, I'd like to know so I can address it. As of the last time I played it, I wasn't aware of anything that would make it unfair, but it's possible an update to Distance broke it.

Great track. One of the very few that in my opinion actually uses proper visual cues in addition to having an interesting design.

Cool idea but it's just way too hard to see where you're driving sometimes. Makes it frustrating.
