Kaiserreich - No Zombie States

Description
- - - 1.4.x COMPATIBLE - - -

A mod that removes the 19th century relics of Two Sicilies, Savoyard Sardinia and Papal Rome from the game a couple of days into 1936. For those who always found the 0.6 Italy Rework to be ugly on both the eyes and the brain.

These states already ran out of legitimacy back in the 1860s so they have no place in the early 20th century. Thanks to this mod, Italy shall suffer zombie states no more! A fairly loose explanation of events is provided through an event, shown in the screenshots.

The Italian Republic annexes the Bourbons in Sardinia and the Savoyards in the Two Sicilies; the Socialist Republic of Italy annexes the Papal States. The annexations include divisions, factories and navies and nothing else; they can gain leaders, cores etc via focuses and events). Both tags eventually core the entire country + move their capital to Rome + join factions through normal focuses and events, nothing is broken in this regard.

A rough overview of the new balance of power (air force is not affected; in parenthesis how much each faction gained):

* SRI: 18 divisions (+1), 69 ships (+0), 16 civ factories (+4), 11 mil factories (+1), 7 shipyards (+0)
* ITA: 23 divisions (+9), 84 ships (+61), 13 civ factories (+6), 9 mil factories (+4), 6 shipyards (+5)

Because of how poorly the AI deals with supply along the Abruzzo line in Central Italy, and the trouble it has in making naval invasions, this setup slightly benefits the SRI while probably leading to a months-long deadlock along the Strait of Massina with the Italian Republic pushed to the islands. However, since I have managed to beat either side in multiple playthroughs (and I am far from being a very good player!) I doubt it is an impossible challenge no matter the faction you choose!

Let me know about bugs.

Personally I think that having the option to form the Kingdom of Italy under the Savoy dynasty in the South would make more sense and make the setting more interesting, especially considering that the current tree of Sardinia is more modern than the Republican one.

The Entente *is* the Big Loser of the Weltkrieg.

For real though, the Republic of Italy can join the Entente eventually.

I thought about doing it, would welcome feedback on the matter.

My somewhat lore-friendly logic is that Rome fell to its own socialist revolt and is thus an autonomous commune under the SRI's authority (Rome itself isn't even a core of the SRI in this mod).

The main mod already has tools in place for the coring of Rome - focuses and decisions and events - dealing with the pacification of the former Papal States, as well as moving the capital to it once the war is over.

I wanted to leave it like that to make it as compatible as possible with any future update to the SRI content. But if you think it is a dealbreaker it is easy to change this.

Shouldn’t you move the SRI’s capital to Rome? Since it controls the city in your version

Thank you for your mod also, I like it! :)
