Meanwhile, HMM is the complete opposite: polished, balanced, and genuinely fun. Its focus trees, events, and mechanics integrate perfectly with the base game, adding replayability and challenge without breaking immersion. HMM feels like an official expansion, not just a fan project, and it shows the best of what the modding community can do.
Verdict: Makeshift Bridges is a waste of time, while HMM is the gold standard – the mod every HOI4 fan should play.
