Tycherious's Fixed Holy Roman Empire Mechanics (At the Expense of My Girlfriend's Sanity)

This mod fixes critical issues with the Holy Roman Empire (HRE) mechanics in the Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD mod and was updated 19/November/2024.

Fixes:

Election System: Resolved functionality bugs.
Pretender System: Corrected issues with pretender faction behavior.
HRE Player Transition: Players now properly become Emperor after elections.
Frankfurt Region Transfer: Fixed Frankfurt's transition when an HRE member wins an election.
HRE Title Transition: The "Holy Roman Empire" title correctly transfers to the winning faction.
HRE Decrees: Decrees now transfer to the new Emperor.
HRE Reforms: Fixed issues with reforms not transitioning correctly.

Acknowledgments:
Huge thanks to the Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD team for their incredible work. The HRE mechanics issues were due to Lua limitations, not the efforts of DETrooper. Kudos to the entire team for their dedication.

Download and Install:

Load Order:
Place this submod above the 1212 AD core mods in your mod manager.
Other mods can be loaded in any order, as long as 1212 AD core mods remain at the bottom of your load order.
If you’re using alternatives, double-check their compatibility and load them alongside the original mods they replace.

@dmonaco01 Can you reach out to me with your save file so I can have a look? This will need to be tested on my newer version, if it works obviously I don't need to fix anything, if the bug remains let me know and I'll squash it.

I managed to do reformatio imperii, but i still get the "imperial exapnsionism" penalty. It says "Only one independent region of the HRE remains", and i assume it's me. Can this issue be resolved, or is it intended to be a feature?

@Tycherious: well thank you, man, the mechanic is so fun to play as I even searched in Wikipedia the information on when England declared war with Frank, whether Otto chose to join the English Allied or not :p lulz,

@Ca Boong Once you've successfully defeated the pretender scenario and kept the crown, you can send your faction leader to attack a strong enemy army alone. They will likely eliminate him, allowing your heir to ascend the throne. When this happens, their Papal Favor status (including Excommunication) will reset, giving you a fresh opportunity to unite the empire.

I need to take all the troops i could to conquer Papal state as soon as I can XD in order to re-communicate with the Pope I create
