Custom Weapon Lab By Zaden & Solved/Devlos! Aka "Timonenluca"

A Local / Dedicated Server Mod and a [Work in Progress]

A Vscript mod that adds the ability to add custom weapons while also providing a base and framework to make it as easy as possible.

A heavily modified and rewritten custom coded weapon mod version based on the work by Rectus it's Custom Weapon Base

NOTE

[The mod currently only supports primary weapon types!]

  • [DISCLAIMER] The LOD's for the worldmodels won't work if either off these video-settings are put on low.
    • Model / Texture Quality:
      • Reason [LOD's are not loaded to preserve model and texture memory]
    • Paged Pool Memory:
      • Reason [LOD's require CPU memory to shift their models based on distance]


This should not be a issue for a Huge portion off the community , unless you still run a 25 year old pentium 4 or have less then 256 M/b's off video memory. These settings should always be on medium they provide better performance overal aslong as you meet better system requirements then the minimal.

  • [EMS] file to modify and spawn custom weapons.
  • [EMSFilePath] custom_weapon_lab/custom_weaponlist.cfg

    - ReplacePercentage: [Percentage Normal Weapons are replaced by custom weapons]
    - CustomWeaponList: [The Currently loaded Custom Weapons]

    Always embed in a string ["..." , "..."]

    CHAT COMMANDS

    • [COMMANDS] Chat Commands Available to use in-game.
      • [Requires to be in singleplayer and being the host to spawn and create weapons manually]

        Prints Weapons in Console Automaticly
        lists all custom weapons available and prints them out in console [Usage: /cwl list]

    HELP & SUPPORT

    • I have a error model!
      • Make sure you put the correct path in the ems weapon file and have the required models installed.
    • The Worldmodel off the weapon is off and does not line up with the equipped stance!
      • Make sure your survivor model has a weapon_bone attachment , if not another attachment is used but less accurate. louis , francis , zoey and coach don't have a weapon_bone attachment so you can try to recompile the survivor model with the weapon_bone attachment or ask the original mod creator off the model.
    • Why do i have a delay between my inputs?
      • The weapon logic on how the weapon acts is server sided , therefor to get the best experience you would need to have a decent ping and latency between the host. The weapons function the same as the prop_minigun and prop_minigun_l4d1 as these both are server sided.
    • I crashed or have a bug!
      • try to restart the map or reload the mod , you can report bugs and crashes on the workshop page or discussion [Always try to provide a video or screenshot with a good description off the issue].
    • My Settings file is in chinese [䌉獵潴坭慥潰䱮獩]!
      • this is a persistant issue with windows 11 only for source engine ems files , use a different text editor to read the file over windows 11 it's default notepad and save the file.

I booted up Tumtara via console and typed in the chat commands. cwl list works as intended but none of the spawn commands worked. The console give me a "SCRIPT PERF WARNING" whatever that means. Sorry, I'm not familiar with script mods.

A great idea that i was hoping would continue to be updated to fix many important issues like the tickrate going crazy just by shooting, hopefully someone else tries this again in a later date.

When will the Third Person Viewmodel be fixed? i use it in first person and the viewmodel is still there, it does't dissappear no matter what i do, it is very annoying to play like this but i still want the custom weapons, could you fix it?

guys,I find a way to make CWL weapons spawn in maps , check your weapon list cfg , and delete all of the original CWL weapons in the list , add other CWL weapons , It may make this work.
doesn't seem to work anymore
