Vanilla Recycling Expanded is our spin on recycling in RimWorld. No longer you will be left with hundreds of wastepacks that you will try to send away into distant parts of the world to forget about them. No longer you will have to try and cheese the game to get rid of pollution. Vanilla Recycling Expanded actually gives wastepacks a purpose, and will let you convert them into a variety of useful new resources!

Players will be able to create improved pumps to drain even more pollution, as well as construct special recycling stations that will turn wastepacks into precious resources whilst also generating a whole new type of wastepack that’s significantly more volatile. Players may also turn standard wastepacks into a different type of wastepacks that can be stored outside.

If you have any suggestions, make sure to leave them in the comments!

The content of this mod can be seen below.

A: Can I add it mid-playthrough to an existing save?
A: Yes, definitely.

Q: Does this work with Combat Extended?
A: No idea. Perhaps?

Q: I can’t find any recycling stuff in my game?
A: Ensure you have research the Basic recycling and Complex recycling research projects.

Q: Does this mod let us recycle apparel or weapons?
A: No, this mod simply lets you recycle wastepacks.

Q: This mod is imbalanced.
A: We accept all feedback. It’s very difficult to balance a mod that lets you produce something valuable from something considered to be ‘waste’. Big factor in that process is the large amount of work required. We have done the napkin math, but there is only so far you can take it. If you have some findings and you’d like to help us balance the numbers, leave a comment down below.

@Abbot The mod Mend And Recycle is your friend

This mod is a great idea that could be expanded upon, for example: Allowing tattered clothing and outdated weapons to be recycled into usable materials, it would do wonders for playthroughs where resources are scarce in an immersive way.

What work type is the recycler?

Yeah, it works normally for me, even though I'm running a bunch of mods. I've noticed zero issues with this mod and I'm definitely one who goes heavy into mechanoids and Dead Man's Switch Automatroids. My only wish would be to either be allowed to burn trash in the cremator or smelter, or even get a unique incinerator for trash :D

Right, because it isn't just pollution. Isotopacks just act every second: if they are damaged in ANY way, every pawn in a radius of 3*amount of isotopacks will get toxic build up.

Once it is damaged, it doesn't matter if it is on a waste crate, it will kill pawns around it. If you select the pack, it will show the radius.

If you don't get it with this mod on its own, it's a mod conflict

Same problem that Haru mentioned. I also have an issue where an invisible area of contamination appeared. No reason for it to be there, and no way to even see it or clean it. Totally ruined my save. However, this did not start until I added a couple of more mods. Could an unknown conflict have caused this. I am playing around in developer mode, but I am not even seeing any bug reports related to it.

I love this mod so much, so I hope a fix can be addressed quickly.

Hi, Trashbrick statues sell for same as stone statues despite having negative ~500 beauty.

I had to remove the mod because an invisible contamination area appeared, which killed colonists within seconds without a gas mask. I tried to freeze or clean it, but it was ineffective.

In multiplayer and someone just burned 100 radioactive packs and it wiped out every colonist on the tile in seconds but didn't kill any of the animals, wild or tamed but they did get some tox buildup. Is the radiation supposed to be map wide?
