Love Marriage Family

Beskrivning

For CK3 version: 1.18.1

The purpose of LMF is to add more realism and more roleplaying options to the aspects of CK3 that center on relationships, marriage, and family. From ensuring that the AI makes more sensible choices for spouses and lovers (no more young lovers paired up with old crones) to adding more interactions with your family & heir to adding more noble maidens as marriage options... there's a lot here to add to your game.

Additional information on the various features can be found in the discussion thread

Also included is the ANSF3 mod, which allows you to construct a family for your custom rulers:

Yes, some. The mod increases the number of children overall (since more courtiers are getting married). If you're concerned, there are game rules allowing you to restrict or even shut off many aspects of the mod, to make them less burdensome on your PC.

DO NOT USE THIS WITH AGOT! AGOT HAS INTEGRATED LMF!

It's NOT going to play well with Total Conversion mods - the bigger and more expansive the mod, the more likely there are going to be conflicts, even if it appears like the mods load together fine.

It's also not likely to play well with other mods that touch on the same subjects, as there are a number of places where LMF needs to include the entire vanilla event file (pregnancy & birth files, in particular).

More detailed information on compatibility can be found in the discussion thread.

Can I Incorporate This Mod Into My Own?

If you like, certainly. Just give me credit somewhere.

Speaking of credit, a few acknowledgements of my own:
  • Obviously, the A New Sensible Family 2 mod. My updates have been spun off into its own A New Sensible Family 3 mod by request, for use by those who simply want to access it without the rest of the tweaks LMF provides.

  • The features involving marriage AI and additional young maidens being added have their root in the Less Old Wives and the More Babies for Counts & Dukes mods, both of which haven't been updated in quite some time. I've almost completely reworked the code by this point, but credit's still owed for where I started.

Please feel free to report any issues (ideally in a discussion thread) and I'll deal with them as promptly as I can.

The triangle means nothing. It read a single line of a single file that has no bearing on the actually mod itself.

@Unstable Energy You mean the LotR mod which isn't yet updated to 1.18? And, even prior to that, sits in the "Definitely NOT Compatible" category in the LMF Compatibility discussion thread? Yep, you're bound to have some problems with that one.

This mod doesn't play well with realms in exile it seems. Crashes at coronation pop up every time.

@Rylock. This isn't the only mod disabled for now. lol. The way I deal with new issues after a big game update when I am midway through a campaign is I start subtracting until the issues stop. I fiddle a bit, disabling the mods I feel could conflict with each other without a compatch or one isn't updated yet, etc. The goal at this point is/was to just be able to keep playing the game. Unfortunately the problem happened so infrequently that it's not easily diagnosed, and you very well could be right, that it's just another mod trying to change some things that both mods touch in the code. When I start a new game then I will start looking at crash reports and load order changes. I always find a way. Cheers and thanks for the followup and being actively involved with your mod.

@wren06 That's fair. Pulling mods out of your list and then assuming that's where the cause was when you can suddenly get past a crash bug isn't really a good way of finding the actual source of the problem, though. I suppose I shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea, but the changes in the 1.18 compatch were pretty low-risk (for LMF, anyhow) and there wasn't really anything else introduced aside from that... so I'd need a lot more convincing before I went on a hunt for a crash bug, especially when there are other mods involved. ;)

I've played this game off and on since it's release date, I played and added mods to CK2 as well, I have been adding mods to games since Morrowind was released in 2000/2001. I understand how mods work and how seemingly benign changes in mod updates, game updates, load orders, patches, "dirty saves" game cache, etc etc, can cause issues that the very day before weren't there. My comment below was not meant to be an indictment on this great mod. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've stopped using this mod for the time being, but that's only because there are still so many other mods updating, fixing updates, patching, compatching, and then the game itself keeps doing it too. When the dust settles I will start a new play through and really start to fiddle. This mod is definitely worth having in anyone's playlist.
