RIM AT WAR - WW2 German Weapons!

This mod adds firearms, explosives, and other equipment used by the German Wehrmacht during World War 2.

Rim At War is a mod series that focuses on introducing real life equipment and factions that existed and were used during World War 1-2 to Rimworld.

This mod serves entertainment purposes only and is to be used as so.
This mod is in no means to promote hate, or glorify violence in any way.







The Luger P08 is a toggle-locked recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol.


The MP 40 is a submachine gun used extensively by the Axis powers during World War II.


The StG 44 was the first successful assault rifle.


The Gewehr 43 is a 7.92x57mm Mauser caliber semi-automatic rifle developed by Germany during World War II.


The Karabiner 98k is a bolt-action rifle chambered for the 7.92x57mm Mauser cartridge it was the primary German service rifle during World War II.


The Karabiner 98k sniper was outfitted with a ZF4 scope or similar to be used by snipers.



The Schiessbecher o "shooting cup" was a German grenade launcher of World War II. This weapon has two fire modes in vanilla and in CE.


The FG 42 combined the characteristics and firepower of a LMG in a lightweight form. It is considered one of the most advanced weapon designs of World War II.


The MG 34 is a German recoil-operated air-cooled general-purpose machine gun, it is generally considered the world's first general-purpose machine gun.


The MG 42 is a recoil-operated air-cooled general-purpose machine gun used extensively by the Germans the during the second half of World War II.


The Panzerbuchse 39 is an anti-tank rifle created in response to the appearance of the first British tanks on the Western Front.



The Flammenwerfer 41 was the standard German flamethrower it performed a similar role of other flamethrowers of the time, namely clearing enemy trenches and buildings in highly fortified areas.This item is WIP and may require a fuel pack in the future, right now is balanced around not having it.



The Panzerschreck was designed as a lightweight infantry anti-tank weapon and was an enlarged copy of the American bazooka. If you have VEF installed this weapon loses durability per shot, 5 shots total.


The Panzerfaust was a development family of single-shot man-portable anti-tank systems developed by Germany during World War II.


The M24 frag grenade was the standard hand grenade of the German Wehrmacht during World War II.



The M24 grenade bundle was a common practice since the M24 lacked effectiveness against hard targets such as tanks and buildings.



The Panzerwurfmine was a shaped charge hand-thrown anti-tank grenade used by the Germans in World War II.



The 3kg pioneer charge was an explosive timed device used by germany during World War II.





- This mod is compatible with Combat Extended. Includes some custom ammo and new unique textures for all the German calibers used by this mod.


- This mod makes use of Vanilla Expanded Framework for some of its optional features like multiverbs.

- This mod inlcudes support for Muzzle Flash.

- This mod includes .dds textures to increase performance when using Graphics Settings+ or similar.



Q: Are you planning on doing other WW2 mods?
A: Yes, equipment, apparel, vehicles, factions, emplacements, etc are all planned to be worked on sooner or later.

Q: Can the mod be added to existing saves?
A: Yes.

Q: Can the mod be removed from existing saves?
A: Is never a good practice to remove mods from ongoing saves. That said, this mod is quite simple and you should be able to fully remove it if you do it properly.

Q: Why does the recipe for some of the weapons requires chemfuel/wood?
A: This may only be a CE thing but It is because most of this weapons have plastic, polymer or wooden parts and I like to reflect that in the crafting cost of the weapon.

Q: Are the weapons properly balanced? (Vanilla)
A: I try to balance my weapons as good as I can, this balance is mostly done comparing it to vanilla or vanilla expanded weapons, however, if you think a weapon should be tweaked let me know in the comments and I'll try to adjust it.

Q: Are the weapons properly balanced? (CE)
A: Same stuff as in the previous question but this time around weapons should feel much more balanced in general thanks to the ballistic system from CE and the rules it follows to balance weapons.

Q: I have CE but the guns are not patched/use wrong calibers.
A: There is a know bug with rimworld atm that can cause mods like mine (vanilla mods that include their own CE patches) to not load the corresponding CE patch folder. This is caused by having too many CE copies (In theory is caused by having a local copy of a mod and a steam copy and using the steam copy). TL;DR have only one CE installed on your computer, local copy or the steam one.

the 88mm rockets for the Panzerschreck can't be stored anywhere. Don't show up in Storage menue.

Anyone know why bullets freeze in mid air and stay there forever now? this is a Recent issue i have found i do not know if its CE or rim at war weapons as i use mostly just Rim at war weapons.

Like a pawn would shoot and theres just a chance the bullet stays there frozen in the air forever like even after reloads and exiting and entering the game it will stay.

If you dont know how to fix this is there at least a Command to delete these frozen bullets?

Okay sorry for the spam, should be the last you see of me for now, but false alarm on that previous comment. Cherry picker decided to fix itself and I was able to re-enable the crafting recipe for the Panzerbusche 39

Unrelated to the previous comment, I may be drop stupid but I cannot craft the Panzerbusche 39. I had it disabled at one point to stop raiders from having it but I realised I need heavy weapons to deal with Centipedes due to having CE enabled. So I've re-enabled it with Cherry picker, and I cannot for the life of me find the crafting recipe I should have it researched what am I doing wrong

Could we see a C96 Mauser pistol? Technically not WW2 but I doubt most people know that plus it'd fit right in with the pack. It'd probably have more AP than the Luger but less damage per shot with a slower fire rate (I don't use CE so no idea how to balance for that)

If you think it's useless you clearly haven't actually used it. It might not be particularly good for suppressive fire because of its realistic ammunition capacity, but the MG42 in this mod is effective when used well.

such a small MAG on a really heavy gun makes this version MG42 really useless compare with most of mods' MG even AR,in other game 42 have at least 75 or 125 rounds。because the rimworld`s 90% battle is defensive,the assault drum version of MG42 is meaningless—— why we need a MG can't provide Suppressive fire?

The real world MG42's drum is 50 rounds, any more and it would need to be implemented as a manually operated turret instead of a man-portable MG
