That should be the fix. "EuSocialInsectAdult" is used for the vanilla insects which you shouldn't be able to breed.
1. Navigate to the BloodScarab XML file within the mod folder, open with notepad.
2. Look for the lifeStageAges lists.
3. Change the def for "EuSocialInsectAdult" to "AnimalAdult". Not sure if it matters, but I did the same for all the stages (AnimalBaby, AnimalJuvenile).
No clue if there are any potential repercussions to this solution but it seems to work. Eggs are laying and babies are babying.
